Guest mrc3
Thanks to the information on this Site I was able to upgrade my phone to WM6.1 (Most recent HTC WWE version). I thought I had written down all the setting, but apparently I missed something. I use t-Mobile US as my phone provider and was able to use bluetooth modem (phone number:*99#) prior to the upgrade to access the internet from my laptop. (I have a data service obviously) However after the upgrade, it connects to the phone, dials the number, gets to the registration to the network phase and fails. XP pro provide very little information regarding the failure. I am able to browse the internet from the phone. (I did set the APN) Can somebody point me in the right direction as to where to look to fix this issue? Thanks, Mike
Guest pdtp
there should be a little app with the phone called Internet Sharing. if not then you can get a ZIP file over @ XDA-developers.com but when you start Internet Sharing just select Bluetooth PAN then connection you want to use, then from your PC connect to the Bluetooth PAN on your phone. you will receive an Ip address from the phone and then be able to surf, there should be no need to dial a connection anymore. Yep that worked, thanks for getting me back online. Did they depricate the modem approach with WM 6.1? The advantage I saw with modem was that as long as bluetooth was enabled and I had previously paired with the laptop, no intervention was required on the phone to establish a data connection. With this approach I have bring up the internet sharing app and click connect before my laptop can establish the connection. Is there a means to leave internet sharing enabled on the phone? Thanks again, Mike
