Guest Busker Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Hiya, I wonder if you can help? I recently took delivery of a Vodaphone branded Omnia. Really love the phone, but I'm having some reception problems at home. I Understand from reading around this site that updating to the XXHH3 rom can help this. I downloaded Grand Prix and the HH3.bin file and followed your instructions to update the PHONE only. But when I press the reset I get a message: OnDeviceChange: DBT_DEVICEARRIVAL PDA Device not found Omnia details: PDA: i900XXHH1/ACHH1 PHONE: i900BUHG5 My PC at home is running Vista and I have a feeling this may be the cause. Any Help/Advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. ;)
Guest bpivk Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 @Busker: You CAN'T install on Vista.
Guest LPSoRcErEr Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 can someone tell me a rom with russian language ?????
Guest oldspice28 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 what is the difference between HI2 and HI3 anyone? so far HI2 is flawless and battery life is excellent as I really dont have to charge it for like a week with minimal use.
Guest Preceptor Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Hi evrybody, 1) I would like to know how can I fugure out from (or for) which country is i900 meant (France, UK, Germany, Singapore, Philipine, Korea ...) without opening the box. I supppose that there is something indicated on the box itself, without opening it. Where can I find this information (near the code bar for example)? How will it look like? 2) If I understood well, we can upgrade any i900 rom version to any other i900 rom version? 3.1) Is DXHI3 is the best ROM to use to have an English ROM for Europe (I live in Switzerland)? 3.2) Is DXHI3 is a ful ROM or an update ROM, which requires a previous verison installed such DXHI+ or DXHI2? I ask you to please answer my questions clearly. Thanks in advance, FB
Guest bpivk Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 @Preceptor: I have checked my box and there isn't a way to check if it's for your country. You'll be able to check that when you look at your firmware. See the first post for firmware clarification. I don't know about other answers because i haven't updated my phone yet. I don't have the guts to do it. ;)

Just to check how it looks like. I am intending to buy it soon from a guy (face to face) and want to be sure. Another thing, I heard (indirectly) that ther are also FAKE Samsung i900 on the market too. Do you guys heard anything like that? I hope the others will be able to answer my other questions. PS: if you want, I can give you my email address by pm. Edited October 8, 2008 by Preceptor
Guest bpivk Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 The Bar code or EAN code is country speciffic. Our code starts with 383 which is Slovenian code. The original box has a 880 code on it (GB i guess). I didn't hear of any fake Omnias but you can check the phone itself. Just open the box and check the label on the phone itself. It should be just under the battery or where the battery should be if it doesn't have one inserted. The label should be original (you know.. the silvery one) and IMEI that's on it has to be identical to the one in the warranty. And don't worry. A lot of people buy phones that are available at lower prices if you have a subscription plan and then sell them at regular aor slihtly lower than regular prices. That's how i got my phone.

Guest bpivk Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Here you go: http://www.adams1.com/pub/russadam/upccode.html#EAN13&8 880 is South Korea
Guest Preceptor Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) Source: http://www.adams1.com/pub/russadam/upccode.html#EAN13&8 (thanks to bpivk) The Universal Product Code was the first bar code symbology widely adopted. Its birth is usually set at April 3, 1973, when the grocery industry formally established UPC as the standard bar code symbology for product marking. Foreign interest in UPC led to the adoption of the EAN code format, similar to UPC, in December 1976. 2005 Sunrise and the Global Trade Item Number initiatives from the UCC will begin on January 1, 2005. This is the "fourteen digit U.P.C." that everyone is talking about. There are quite a few misconceptions and considerable misinformation about the effect of this change. In a nutshell, if you are a manufacturer of a product that has an existing 8 or 12-digit UPC barcode, don't worry. You do not have to change anything. However, if you are a retailer or wholesaler with scanners, you potentially are affected. You will need to ensure that scanners are able to decode 8, 12, 13 and 14-digit barcodes (most scanners sold for the last 5 years can do this) and that database systems can handle the extra digits. Gregg London was kind enough to share an excellent white paper on the subject. Once January 1, 2005 comes, both EAN and UPC labels should scan properly worldwide. There are now five versions of UPC and two versions of EAN. The Japanese Article Numbering (JAN) code has a single version identical to one of the EAN versions with the flag characters set to ``49''. UPC and EAN symbols are fixed in length, can only encode numbers, and are continuous symbologies using four element widths. What are the country codes? Lots of people have requested the codes. Here is a partial list. Remember, it indicates the country that issued the code, NOT THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN OF THE PRODUCT. The authoritative list is here. 000 - 019 USA & Canada 020 - 029 reserved for local use (store/warehouse) 030 - 039 USA & Canada 040 - 049 reserved for local use (store/warehouse) 050 - 059 Coupons 060 - 139 USA & Canada 200 - 299 reserved for local use (store/warehouse) 300 - 379 France 380 Bulgaria 383 Slovenija 385 Croatia 387 BIH (Bosnia-Herzegovina) 400 - 440 Germany 450 - 459 Japan 460 - 469 Russian Federation 470 Kyrgyzstan 471 Taiwan 474 Estonia 475 Latvia 476 Azerbaijan 477 Lithuania 478 Uzbekistan 479 Sri Lanka 480 Philippines 481 Belarus 482 Ukraine 484 Moldova 485 Armenia 486 Georgia 487 Kazakhstan 489 Hong Kong 490 - 499 Japan 500 - 509 UK 520 Greece 528 Lebanon 529 Cyprus 531 Macedonia 535 Malta 539 Ireland 540 - 549 Belgium & Luxembourg 560 Portugal 569 Iceland 570 - 579 Denmark 590 Poland 594 Romania 599 Hungary 600-601 South Africa 608 Bahrain 609 Mauritius 611 Morocco 613 Algeria 619 Tunisia 621 Syria 622 Egypt 624 Libya 625 Jordan 626 Iran 627 Kuwait 628 Saudi Arabia 629 Emirates 640 - 649 Finland 690 - 695 China 700 - 709 Norway 729 Israel 730 - 739 Sweden 740 Guatemala 741 El Salvador 742 Honduras Nicaragua 744 Costa Rica 745 Panama 746 Republica Dominicana 750 Mexico 754 - 755 Canada 759 Venezuela 760 - 769 Schweiz, Suisse, Svizzera 770 Colombia 773 Uruguay 775 Peru 777 Bolivia 779 Argentina 780 Chile 784 Paraguay 786 Ecuador 789 - 790 Brasil 800 - 839 Italy 840 - 849 Spain 850 Cuba 858 Slovakia 859 Czech 860 YU (Serbia & Montenegro) 865 Mongolia 867 North Korea 869 Turkey 870 - 879 Netherlands 880 South Korea 884 Cambodia 885 Thailand 888 Singapore 890 India 893 Vietnam 899 Indonesia 900 - 919 Austria 930 - 939 Australia 940 - 949 New Zealand 950 Head Office 955 Malaysia 958 Macau 977 Serial publications (ISSN) 978 - 979 Bookland (ISBN) 980 Refund receipts 981 - 982 Common Currency Coupons 990 - 999 Coupons Another one: http://www.barcodeisland.com/ean13.phtml Number System: The number system consists of two digits (sometimes three digits) which identify the country (or economic region) numbering authority which assigned the manufacturer code.
