Guest Piemole Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Is there an application that can disconnect GPRS/EDGE/3G connection with a single button when you are connected? If so please advise as I used to kill the active connection on my TyTn by pressing the end button. Go to setting/buttons go to the end key tab at the bottom of the screen.
Guest mstnggt500kr Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Go to setting/buttons go to the end key tab at the bottom of the screen. Sadly, this option is removed from the Verizon Omnia... any known fix?
Guest elins Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Sadly, this option is removed from the Verizon Omnia... any known fix? Try to make a shortcut to dataconnectionmanager.exe in Windows if I remember well. You can manager your connections from there...
Guest Crispy 78 Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 (edited) You can download Smart Reader for your Omnia phone at the Dutch SamSung website. Here's a direct link to the Dutch Smart Reader: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/down...OCR_NL.WM60.CAB Here's a direct link to the English Smart Reader: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/down...CR_Eng.WM60.CAB Edited December 16, 2008 by Crispy 78

Guest fastevolutionviii Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 You can do the opposite: control your Samsung Omnia (Player Addict) using your PC screen, keyboard and mouse with EveryWAN Remote Support. We just published Samsung Omnia skin on Sparus Software's EveryBLOG. Here's a sample capture: Enjoy! Great program thanks! Better in every way compared to SoTi Pocket Controller IMO.

Guest hrh313 Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 does anyone know if there are any problems (if it will mess the phone up) to download some of these .cab files to a U.S. Omnia i910 running on Verizon's system? I'm interested in a few of the applications but don't want to mess up the phone. Related to that, would a hard reset put everything back to factory standards? (I am a complete non-techie, by the way, other than being able to download cab files and install them on the phone) Thank you.
Guest Devin C Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 does anyone know if there are any problems (if it will mess the phone up) to download some of these .cab files to a U.S. Omnia i910 running on Verizon's system? I'm interested in a few of the applications but don't want to mess up the phone. Related to that, would a hard reset put everything back to factory standards? (I am a complete non-techie, by the way, other than being able to download cab files and install them on the phone) Thank you. Most of this stuff will work on the i910 for Verizon if it is just cabs. Flashing new ROMs may not. The only things that don't work on the Omnia are generally: 1. Programs specific to the HTC phones 2. Older games not formatted for WQVGA (even using the fix program they don't work) 3. Programs using the G Sensor for HTC unless you load up the HTC Sensor emulator (found on this website) 4. VGA and WVGA programs Pretty much everything else works. And yes, a hard reset puts it back to factory standard for Verizon. It will be as if you just bought your phone again. Hard reset will NOT erase your storage card (if you have one) unless you click the option to format it when you hard reset. Regards, Devin
Guest hrh313 Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 ^ Thank you I installed Windows LiveSearch but it doesn't work on my phone. Neither does Google Maps. I've read somewhere else that Verizon somehow blocks the GPS part from working so that you have to subscribe to their own VZ Navigator. is there an easy to install cab file which will take off this block of the phone's GPS system? I am also frustrated with the phone security lock that comes on every 30 minutes. I'd just as soon that someone COULD access my phone, so they could hopefully be honest and locate me. Any way to get rid of that?
Guest Risco Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Iris Browser. http://www.torchmobile.com/products/ Not as good as opera, stuggles on complicated pages ( skysports ) but still fun to try.
Guest MrJoneswii Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Wow, I tried the metro application from a few pages back and it's really cool. The interface could be better, but it's gonna be unmissable in the complicated network of the metro de madrid thanks
Guest sqjam Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 When i'm changing information about my contacts.. How can i make all changes transfer to SIM card? I'm using phone extension if that matters
Guest buyukbang Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 I tried Iris Browser yesterday and impressed with its user friendly browsing experience. IMHO this is the best browser for WM. I was jealous about two things about iPhone: 1- Its magnificient screen, wider and more vivid. 2- Its browser Safari, which is built on the same engine like Iris. Now I eleminated the second one ) Here is my comparison notes on this: + Better clicking behavior than Opera. You must click 1-2 seconds on links and buttons. This helps to prevent accidental clickings which really annoys me while using Opera. Additionally shows a nice animation on where you clicked. + Better and richer "settings" menu. + Supports private browsing and mouse mode - Does not support flash sites Now I set Iris as the default browser and I'll only use Opera for flash sites. Please do not forget Iris is in its beta stage and I thik it will be better in the future releases.
