i already found that "internal" menu password.. i think i post it here also.. nop??

anyway there is nothing usefull in there... nothing according to phone band settings....

mabe it's more then codes... mabe there is a way to open it with factory software or something....

i'm still trying to get "Samsung Tech man" at my work.. they bring to us phones for testings.. i'm always trying to convince them to ask at Samsung Factory if it's possible to do this change by code or software..

still didn't got any answers.....

at my network if i'm using only 2100 band i have voice+3G+Data and everything.. but i must have also the 850 band.. because the "in-buildings" recept it's 850 band.. so i don't have much recept inside houses/malls/buildings and etc.......

Your right nothing....

Yep...

as i see it.. there is no easy solution to change band...

i think i'll wait few weeks.. if there won't be a way to fix this bands (with or without i900L ROM) i have to sell this omnia and buy other cool 3G phone that support triband UMTS/WCDMA (like iphone...)

even the HTC Touch HD (the new one) it's only 2100 band...... B)

on the other side.. i hate iphone!! i have many friends that every month they install something that kill the phone or making some very bad "bugs" that they have to start all over with hard-reset............

i loved the omnia because you can just drop in with USB any video any file you want without "converting" them to fit the phone format.. (like you need to convert every file in the iphone..)

the 2100 band will dominate the world!!!

Here in brazil the operators that bring 3G only got 1900 and 850 but they bougth the 2100 band and never installed! i live in the capital of the country and here we still didnt get the 2100 band and its the first to be functional.

Is the omnia out in venezuela with the us bands? if so maybe we can find some forums from there that might help us out....

Also if they unlocked the htc diamond's 3g bands with a rom there should be no reason why we cant do the same.

i was thinking that also.. but "mabe" it's possible only with factory pc software or something like that.. ?!

and another thing.. if our omnia i900 can be change bands, why samsung "build" the i900L long after they came out with the regular i900? mabe they had to make hardware changes and that take them time to do?? <_<

we must upload here somehow the i900L rom.. (but i don't think this will change something..)

Do you guys know the secret menu codes for the diamond?

This probably wont be any help but on the htc under version it says

Radio version 1.00.25.08

And under hardware it says..

CPU QUALCOMM® 7201A

The Euro version (DIAM100) has different hardware than the US version (DIAM110). This may correlate with the i900 and i900L designations, especially when you consider the FCC applications for both models.

Perhaps Samsung's Tech are not the people to ask but rather Qualcomm's. It's their chip, the chip has all the bands, and those debug menus under *#197..etc are more than likely their original debug menus. Qualcomm has to know how to get to it. I DOUBT seriously that the menu's can be used to get the bands open, unless that was explicitly desired in the ROM. The ROM is going to determine EVERYTHING about interacting with the chip. The debug menu is there because even with those parts turned off, you want to be able to fine tune or investigate the chip.

Certainly the radio is there. It is IN the chip. It has been turned off or disabled or NOT enabled in the ROM. It can be turned on or enabled, and that has to be put into the ROM.

so is there any settings i should look at while i have the touch diamond?

Have you tried the same debug codes listed above for the omnia?

Although it's ostensibly set in the ROM, perhaps the codes are defaulted in the Qualcomm Chip. Have you tried those codes given earlier in the thread? (i.e. *#197328640# for the debug menu. If you've got a 3G phone then 'WCDMA' will give you a choice of bands, I think)

I dont know the menu codes on the HTC Diamond.. I cant seem to find them anywhere nether... Thats what i really wanted to do from the beginning when i bought the diamond which is what APO11ON was talking about...

Looking through the menus on the omnia just now...I typed in *#32489# when i got 2 that screen there are 2 choices... Instead of clicking on one of them press back.. Now there are 5 choices the firth one being " WCDMA AS RRC VER" Then in that screen the second option says "Change RRC ver. Would this be anything we should look at?
