Guest jakeordie Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Looking through the menus on the omnia just now...I typed in *#32489# when i got 2 that screen there are 2 choices... Instead of clicking on one of them press back.. Now there are 5 choices the firth one being " WCDMA AS RRC VER" Then in that screen the second option says "Change RRC ver. Would this be anything we should look at? Wiki RRC and it doesn't look like what we need.
Guest juvaknin Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 i played all over the omnia menus and try change everything i can... it's looks like there is no way to change or add bands only using this hidden menus.....

Would this be anything we should look at? Does anyone know where these menus are stored? Usually the phone codes correspond to apps in the system directory. Although this may be special in some way. Aside: I looked at the I907 (Samsung Epix on ATT) and the debug menu has the 3G bands 850, 1900 listed in addition to "UMTS" (Which I assume is 2100) but there is no mention of WCDMA. I think that the radio hardware is the same on the Epix, but the processor is a PXA311 while the Omnia has a PXA312. Are there any other noticeable differences with the I900L? I.e. in the about screen, is it a PXA312? I am curious, is anyone able to dump the ROM from the I900L?
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 The problem is finding that rom......
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 well i think i going to go return the diamond since it doesmt seem like its going to help. should i scoop up a samsung epix? might that help?
Guest picky-picasso Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 And, just to clarify, you did try the codes we have for the Omnia, yes? And they didn't work? I dont know the menu codes on the HTC Diamond.. I cant seem to find them anywhere nether... Thats what i really wanted to do from the beginning when i bought the diamond which is what APO11ON was talking about...
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 that is correct. the codes did not work. at thos point im thinking that besides the i900l the only phone that MIGHT help is the epix... i can scoop it up if you guys think we can use something off it....
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 On the samsung venezula page it shows the i900L only supporting 2100 3g bands...
Guest Lancez Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 On the samsung venezula page it shows the i900L only supporting 2100 3g bands... i dont know if its already been posted or not. but *#0228# well open a menu, then tap the "back" softkey twice. there is a [9] common, use keyboard tap 9 then it'll show up something there, look for [5] WCDMA set channel.......when i tap 5 from the keyboard show up an option says..... current CH: (nothing) set downlink CH, input? 0 : reset Set CH Range : 10562-10842 i didnt change anything in there, i dont know much about those settings. but if anyone who has the knowledge, plz take a look in there and let's know. thanks

Guest Turb0wned Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 by the way you enter the numbers by typing in the number then pressing the areo key right next to the "text" on the keyboard... in using samsung key board.
Guest Lancez Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) by the way you enter the numbers by typing in the number then pressing the areo key right next to the "text" on the keyboard... in using samsung key board. k, it might sounds good. B) , i've tried it and i think i've reset the band under that menu, but i have no idea which band i selected. from the original menu: current CH: it was nothing, but after i tap "0" and "enter" it saids success reset, tap end on right lower corner, phone beeps once and w/o any signals from the top bar. beeps again after 2 sec. the signal comes back, i tried to call my voicemail box and succeed, soft reset. now, im getting Current CH: 0 about setting the freq: i entered 10562 then "enter", it saids success again, now my screen shows : DL CH: 10562 UL CH: 9612 Setting: Success what do u think? Guest zipperzam Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Hey guys, this might be of some help. People on xda are also trying to figure out how to get 3g on their HTC pro. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420865
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) Alot of people on here seem to have lost hope and i think im starting to also... We dont have enough people that know more about this kind of stuff helping. The only think that we can try now i think is to hope that Juvaknin can get us the rom from the Omnia that has all the bands... Im gonna try to give this a break unless something comes up because im driving myself crazy looking around settings and i900l roms and this and that. Also its on xda-developers that they did it to the diamond and its pretty dead in the i900 us 3g thread over there. Edited December 4, 2008 by Turb0wned
Guest zipperzam Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 For the diamond, looks like it is just a matter of flashing to another radio rom rather than modifying the internal settings. Here are the current diamond radio's and from the looks of it you can use other devices such as the xperia. Sadly I don't have any cooking or modifying skills, so someone else will have to figure out how to do it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432770
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) i dont have any rom cooking skills nether.... Edited December 4, 2008 by Turb0wned
Guest Lancez Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 i dont have any rom cooking skills nether.... i think its time to PM PaSSoa and Secany.
Guest Turb0wned Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 how about the radio from the epix? how can we geet that? if i buy an epix can i get the radio from that then have someone modify it for our phone?
Guest Lancez Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 how about the radio from the epix? how can we geet that? if i buy an epix can i get the radio from that then have someone modify it for our phone? u certainly can. but its better to consult with both of them that i mentioned above and ask them if they can do us a favor, since its holiday season. but if we r going to dump the radio part out of the i907, i think we should dump the ROM as well. the ROM might have something to do with the radio.
