Have you succeeded in updating your omnia with the OFICIAL DXHH1 firmware?

For those having problems, did you hard reset before upgrading? I dont have any problems with Touch Player showing album are, battery so far is still showing 100% after an overnight charge and some EDGE usage for email and browsing. I do agree it feels a tad slower even after all my usual tweaks but just a smidge. Havent had any problems scrolling the Samsung programs list either.

Another user says he noticed a marked slowdown of EDGE speed after upgrade. Did you notice this also ?

I would tend to agree on the Hard Reset first (that's what I did for F8->G4), because it appears that if you flash to HH2, then flash this leaked HH1 you end up with more available memory! The only explanation is that this HH1 flash does not re-write the complete code area either by design or due to a bug. Samsung warns on their Upgrade site that you cannot (should not ???) flash back to an earlier version. There may be areas of the EEPROM that they use to keep info that is updated at every flash.

yes. did a hard reset. however now, after a soft reset my battery showing correct values. i'll see how much this charge will hold

Yes, i'm afraid this is a bug. I still doubt it is an OFFICIAL rom.

btw, how could we tell from an UNOFFICIAL rom and an OFFICIAL rom? :D

I did mine last night. I did hard reset then I flashed twice (no streaming player after first flash  ). Went to bed at around 2200 with 100% battery and now 1900 with 60%. No issues and working rather well. :D :D

The third day? That's great!

Which rom are you using? PDA/PHONE version please, thanks!

Mine can't last 2 days with medium usage.

30mins phone calls, some SMS, 2 hours WiFi web browsing, 20 mins music playing and maybe 30 mins video playback.

I dont know. I do a lot of sms with my wife from here (12 today). I dont surf becasue we are not allowed by US Gov contract to not use web services on our mobiles. I do play games on and off all day (checker, chess "I suck", bubble breaker and solitare)and I listened to music for about 30 minutes. I do not consider that heavy usage.

Have you managed to flash your branded Omnia, i'm looking at doing so too, but no one has said definitely by using the service centre version of HH1 that this it works, does anyone know if there are major differences in the handset which could cause a failed update, i.e specific hardware settings which need to be removed first before flashing with a samsung unbranded rom, i beleive there are a lot of chaps on this site asking this question but not really getting a straight answer, i understand this will change with experiance so if you have updated a branded omnia can you post your experiance process taken.

Thanks

Successful upgrade from (official) G4 to HH1. Unit from Singapore, purchased on eBay, originally at F8.

FYI, I hard reset before, put in flight mode, removed the SD card and followed the instructions on the initial panel of the upgrader, i.e.:

- turn off phone

- start Upgrade program

- connect phone to PC

- Turn on phone (was recognized within a few seconds, but countdown on port_open went down to 8...)

Reboot took a little over 1 minute.

Hi all, i did mine yesterday, and i didn't hard reset.

Have battery issues, before sleep is 3-4 bar, and early morning, no bar left.

If i try to hard reset and re-flash it again, will it solve the problem ?
