I tried the camera update (*#2470#) on DXHH3 before upgrading and it worked.

Can you tell us in details how did you upgrade the camera on DHH3 ? where should we input this string ?

thanks

i have just updated to DXHI1 but when i try to do it for camera using *#2470# i see only a white page with :firmeware updating for 2 seconds and nothing else, but the version of camera is 1.09 and dosen,t changed, where i make the mistake?

Hi, how do you check the version of camera?

Thanks!

Somebody else mentioned further up the thread that they tried the code in DXHH3 and it worked for them but it would stand to reason that you would need to do the firmware update first to probably have the necessary camera firmware update code in place to do the camera update. So I'd say flash DXHI1 first and then try the camera upgrade code - if an update is available, I believe it will do the update.

Yes that was me. I upgraded from the Voda branded ROM to DXHH3 and tried the camera update which worked. I presume it upgrades the camera ith the DXHH3 files? But as others have said the camera version stays at 1.09 or whatever it was and I didn't even check mine before or after so can't confirm. But it does run on the DXHH3 ROM.

I'm trying to understand this whole ROM thing...so basically what it is, Secany changes the language of Samsung Offical ROMS? For instance on the samsung page...are the XIHH9 & DZHH3 in a foreign language or are they in English?

The ROM is the operating system for the phone, like XP for your PC. Secany is releasing ROM's for various regions as well as updates for those regions. The first 2 letters are the country/region code and the rest is the ROM version for that area.

Think of them like English XP SP1, English XP SP3, USA XP SP2 etc etc

Hope this makes it clearer for you.

Download and install MobileRegistryEditor, look in the phones registry at this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Camera

scroll down to Version, it should say 1.09

I'm on this new Italian firmware now! Lovely. However when taking a photo with GPS, it only records the longitude. No latitude or altitude. Any ideas? ;)

Thanks and you are right, it's 1.09. Anyone remember what it was(before the update)?

I've done the camera update trick.

Yup just checked mine too. Says 1.09 as well. Hopefully that's the updated version. GPS works as well as H3, in F8 it was tremendously slow to get a location.

It does make it a bit clearer...so those ROMS on Samsung site is in the language of the country selected......that question sounds real dumb but i really want to know.....if so...what is the latest OFFICIAL English ROM?

Thanks for the reply BTW

i believe all of the roms posted here by secany are official. except for the one that he and the other member manage to cooked (i.e when he modify some rom for the branded to non branded). You don't want to go for that ROM since it's in either spanish or french (it is marked with ***Need to test***). If you're looking for the latest rom in english i suggest you go with the DXHI1 Rom. and yes, it is official. Hope this help

Hey guys,

I'm new here and I was wondering if the new i900DXHI1 also supports Dutch. Sorry for asking such a noob question if this may be ;)

Thanks in advance,

JohnnyGu

Anyone?

I still can't get the flashing program to load... I even reinstalled XP Pro over XP MCE which I had before and it still gives me an error.

Can anyone help? This is super annoying... or at least tell me how I might be able to get Vista to recognize it? There's no ActiveSync for Vista, so I don't know how to get it to connect.

is there any ROM i900XXHI1 or higher for english or polish?

Well, upgraded yesterday night to DXHI1, coming from DXHH3. First of all, THANKS A LOT SECANY!

What I have found so far:

+ battery seems better than before, at least going down in a more linear way, based on the real usage (which was quite a lot today with many -geotagged- pictures), but too early to tell for sure how good it is now.

+ locking the device with call-end key works now also when there is a pin set to lock the device (was not the case with DXHH3)

+ device is as reactive and snappy as before, maybe a bit more but difficult to tell

+ no error messages so far (well, only 1 to be honest, with an old program)

+ camera (upgraded to 1.09 with *#2470# as indicated by Secany) is quicker now, and quality of the pictures with default settings is better (colors more lively), but...

- GPS locking seems slower, but maybe it is just my impression.

- geotagged pictures get ZERO LATITUDE AND WRONG LONGITUDE (and altitude I think). This was NOT the case before the camera upgrade (or before the ROM upgrade in any case)

- I also find it annoying that with 1.09, the camera does not start until it has a GPS fix... in my previous version (don't know the number), the camera would start even without a fix (grey sat icon), and would indicate when it had a fix (white sat icon).

Can anyone who has upgraded to DXHI1 and camera 1.09 check if they also get wrong coordinates on the geotagged pictures?

SECANY, are you aware of this bug (well, assuming it is a bug...)?

Is there a way to "downgrade" to an earlier camera version?

Thanks everyone and keep up the good work!

Same, DXHI1 doesn't have working geotagging. Nor did HH3. Bum!

Nope, DXHI1 is English only.

There's a XXHI1 (and XXHI2) upgrade available for download directly from the Samsung global download site. But that update is an MLI file and requires that you have the change language option in your phone already. I believe that means you have to be running an XX ROM currently ...
