this forum is the best of the best.... thanks for the HI1 ROM update. its the coolest... but after installing this ROM i had only one problem i.e. wid the bluetooth functionality... even after mentioning the folder where the files should get stored i.e. my storage, the file gets stroed in the phone memory... also i have to keep the option of "allow all incoming beam" -ON, otherwise i dont get any bluetooth connection... any solution guys.... thanks....

another successful firmware upgrade.. phone_part HI2, Thanks Secany and Datafanastic for the rom/guides.....No issue with the battery so far.. and ..wonder is there a XXHI5 phone part in the Italian ROM?....... on 1st page (the phone part doesnot affect the language)

Just did another flash right now, with Phone part only, now i'm with DXHI1 for PDA and XXHI2 for Phone

Signal seems to be stronger with HI2 when i'am indoor.

i am getting complaints from people saying that my phone keeps breaking in and out of signal, which didnt use to happen. Was this happening to you?

Considdering updating to HI1 but i know the moment i do a new version will be available!

If there a program that backs up text messages, and can be restored after update is processed? (not too fussed about having to reninstall apps) but texts can be a pain

I downloaded and installed the following application today just for that purpose:

Of course, it needs the latest .NET Compact version (3.5) installed as well and while it does appear to synch SMS messages with my desktop, I haven't had to try restoring. So I can't tell you if it works perfectly or not ;)

Hi,

for whom like me had problems trying to install a new firmwire because the update program used to go in timeout been unable to find the device, i've resolved in this way:

uninstall activesync

cleen the pc system register (need to delete all the voices in the register referred to activesync)

restart the pc

reinstall acticesync

reinstall samsung modem drivers

connect the device via usb cable waiting for activesync to recognize the omnia and check also that the pc recognize the device via samsung modem drivers

start the update program

turn off the thevice (always connected via usb)

turn on the device, in this moment the upgrade procedure had to recognize the device and enable the start button

click the start nutton and wait for the procedure to end

GAME MADE!!!! ;)

i hope to help whom like me tried for two days to upgrade his omnia without success!

PPCPIMBackup is the best for this purpose imo, just an exe file that needs no installation, and can backup and restore messages, tasks, appointments

Hello,

i have upgraded from DXHH1 (PDA) and XXHG5 (Phone) to DXHH3 (PDA and Phone). Some Impressions so far:

- Upgrade Process worked fine and without Problems (removed sim and Microcard, formatted device before upgrade)

- Memory Storage Free = 58,48 mB, Programm Free = 59,23;

- Streaming Player is starting

- Screen Rotation Works fast

- Device seems to be a bit more faster then before (just a feeling)

- Didnt get the camera error

- First GPS fix last about 3 Minutes, second attempt within the camera application = gps position within 15 seconds ( i am testing this on the second floor within my house, so i have roof upon my head :-))

Battery report follows tomorrow evening!

I am using omnia which I got from vodafone UK(English) with version PDA: i900XXHH1/ACHH1

Phone: i900BUHG5

then I gpgrade successfully with PDA:i900DXHH1/DXHH1 PHONE:i900DXHH1 by methood mention here

Now can anyone tell me is there any better or latest version then I upgraded in my phone?

or Which RADIO and/or PDA update r u suggest for me, please reply

I had upgraded easily to DXHH3 using the modem and the updater on XP m/c.

I have down loaded the HI for the two sites mentioned here, 2 times each, and whenever I run the 1st part of the down load, it gives an error at 78% exactly, saying an error CFC has occurred .

Yet at the end I have the whole 143,842 .

Stopping Norton anti virus , hard resetting the device , running the modem and the updater , soft resetting the mobile, pushing the start button,immediately I get an error message and nothing happen.

This has been done 4 times.

Since most of the people here have used the same down loaded file, I really do nor know what is wrong on my update.

Please note the problem occurred when unzipping the 3 parts .

Can some one help ? or give me a link to a complete one piece updater ?
