Guest panateo Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Just upgraded my spare Omnia sample (the one I use for experimental purposes :) ), DXHK2 CSC works OK with this ROM. -streaming player and XTRA back to the normal operation. - I confirm Silverinbox is not enabled yet. I'll check the general stability and let you know; anyway, for general use, I think would be better to wait for the DXHL2 anyway.. :( Tested, looks too much slow while returning on the Widget screen, due to the fact that new online Widgets need to be reloaded every time you swith the page.. <_< Sometimes online Widgets lock-up, like there's no response form the Network, need to reboot. Another annoying thing is that the Internet connection is triggered every time you reboot the phone, I found no way to disabled it, even in the registry. Anyway, the idea is great, let's see the improvements in DXHL2! :(
Guest thegoodly Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 lets hope secany will deliver soon! getting desperate for my flashing fix!!
Guest mooman Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 are we now able to create our own widgets , for example a custom programm launcher or something?
Guest lutharigno Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 I have been waiting for a new and interesting rom to flash to and was tempted to try L1. With what i've seen so far i think i'll wait for L2
Guest bobobird Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) Given Samsung's usual 1 step forward, 2 steps backwards way of doing things, I would'nt hold out much hope for any substantial improvements in HL2. The i900 is being run like a beta programme. Unlike the more established WinMobile manufacturers SS releases ROM after ROM. Good to keep us interested but with no formal feedback mechanism getting it right is going to take a long long time. By which time we will all have moved to something less aggravating. As for HL1 - secany decided not to release it and rightly. After a day or so with it - battery life is terrible, once it switched itself off and had to remove batt 2 times to get it going again. Other irritations include the poor sensitivity of the topmost bar. the HK series was excellent in the regard. As someone mentioned, on reboot it wants to connect out. Widget customisation is quirky - normally customisation options would appear under the today/items area but ss has other ideas. So... Going back to HK3. Edited December 19, 2008 by bobobird

Samsung never releases rom after rom, those roms are being released underground... judgmental users are the main reason why SS don't release and wait a fair amount of time between releases to check on stability first. Remember the Iphone when it was first released? the update that made applications, exchange, and many other improvements that made it a true pda was released nearly a year after that! so chill and use your most stable rom so far if you want and wait for the coming stable release from SS, I bet they will put it on their site very soon! of course Secany is a trust worthy source, so I would use his releases as well. being a member of the FAA and compain in the same time, can't work!

Guest samjuan Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 My bro got himself the X1, and guess what! he has almost 180MB of storage free memory, and almost the same for program free memory! we are striving for a mere 30 or 40 free MB ... and he can install literally all his applications on the internal memory without even feeling it! and he can keep all the applications running in the background without having to worry! god if the Omnia was like that, I don't think we'll even have to think about memory issues ever again! well, they will always have to leave some room for Omnia 2... Anyway, anxiously waiting for L2, c'mon Secany, pop the links for us tonight! let's have our weekend busy!...
Guest bobobird Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) Anyway, anxiously waiting for L2, c'mon Secany, pop the links for us tonight! let's have our weekend busy!... he wants us to spend the xmas period on the L2 so that we dont overeat, overdrink, over-ignore family/friends, not over spend on presents etc since we wont have time to give them out, over-anything....... and same for the new year period for non-payees.... Edited December 19, 2008 by bobobird

I have a German Omnia and I want an OFFICIAL english rom on it. Please someone respond Im really confused. the most ultimate your-region-specific completely utterly official rom for your Samsung will be only from two locations, either from the samsung support site, installing the file without any tweaks or hacks, the second location is from your local service center! other than that the only official not-your-region-specific might-void-your-warranty-up-to-your-dealer on the web is the ones released by Secany. He is the most trust worthy source of the underground official Samsung Omnia rom releases on the whole web IMHO.

Well if I install one of the roms from Secany samsung has no way to find that I installed the rom myself since it is official without tweaks and I can just say I got it instaled in english in a service center. Or no? But I dont really get why you install the roms from Secany and not from the official samsung website. Isnt it the same? All i want is my omnia to be in english, have an untweaked ROM and without a voided warranty. Too much to ask for? I would go to a service center but i currently live in Ukraine and i am not sure if there even is one here. Also I doubt they would be willing to put english on it since everyone wants it in Russian here I guess. Edited December 20, 2008 by tibor28
