Im currently on german HH9, not having any serious problems. Do you recommend me to upgrade? The only newer ones are HL1 and HL2 and they are both buggy, right?

No. If you check the link I sent you before you can tell that your ROM is from august 2008. Since that we have a series of ROMs improved in many ways, so for a better English ROM I would suggest to use DXHK3 at the moment - not knowing how to judge the HL versions so far.

downloaded the 166MB file.. that is all i need right ? no CSC file ?

only reason to get DZ cos i need the chinese input...

bout the GPS... its buggy and slow in all the built without xtra.. so.. dun bother.. tweak or without tweaking the registry also.. its slow and pretty useless...

imagine when u r in a hurry.. one the gps.. drive half point.. and waited 5 min.. to get signal.. sometime even 30 min without one... quite stupid.. !

I am totaly lost in this posts because all you are coocking 1205345594803486 ROM`s.

Why you don`t upload and keep just a better ROM and delete that ROM`s that are older, slower & worst B)

+ it will be fine to make a votation to determinate witch ROM it`s most recommended & used.

Just open part1 and drag n drop all the files on your computer from rar.

You dont have to extract again part2 and part3.

(These 3 files are the splits parts of only one file compressed. )

Then follow my instructions

I just flashed to DZHL2 without the CSC and the version says DXHL2 so I guess it was DX except the CSC which was DZ. Anyways, all things seem to be working except the streaming player but I think I remember the solution to that one somewhere in this forum. XtraData applications also seems to have reverted to a more basic design from my previous HK3 firmware but I think its ok. Haven't tested GPS yet with this new firmware so can't really say if it makes a difference. Thanks to secany for this latest firmware leak! :rolleyes:

You will get the streaming player + the "newer" xtras app on install of the DZ csc.

Yes, I've read that the apps have been moved to the CSC but I don't want to install the DZ CSC since it seems to reduce the amount of free space due to the additional Chinese support. I think I'll wait for the complete DX release for the newer apps and just stick with this one for now. :rolleyes:

ok.. review :

1. Overall respond... is faster than HK3. Impressive.

2. GPS.. no different with HK3.. uses garmin and agis..

3. online widgets are cool... but it will auto connect 3G data.. so.. advisable to use NoData if u dun have unlimited.

4. Volume control.. new interface is not bad.

Not sure what bugs yet...

You can replace HL2 CSC with Secany's or LuFeig's HK3 CSC. HK3 does not have chinese input and widgets (so it'll save a good 25MB-s for you :)) , but has Streaming Player and GPS XTRA.

Chinese takes up only about 2mb according to taril - not worth saving on to get full hl2 imho. And he said in his thread that the PlumSIP can be deleted if not needed.

wow, ive been busy the last couple of days with christmas (read: eating and drinking a lot) but you guys sure haven't been sitting on your asses, a lot of comments on the new rom! :rolleyes:

although i consider myself a real addict, i'm not excited at all about the last rom now and i think i won't install it and í'll wait for the first 2009 version.

thank god the number of custom cookers on this forum is increasing so they can cut away all the useless crap from the roms that seem to constantly increase in size (and take away my precious space)for me! :)

GPS Test results.

Trying out the GPS getting fix data... maybe is my mind...

The time to get fixed at the same place.. is faster for HL3 than HK3... used the HL3.. get the fix timed it.. and reinstall HK3 and do it again.. HL3 is actually faster..
