SMS Typing lag????

Is it just me or is there a serious typing lag when using the built in SMS/e-mail client on WM 6.0/6.1?

I've been using ExtremeText for my SMS needs since February and I was able to breeze through my typing when sending messages through there.

After installing 6.1, I went back to the default SMS client and I have to type a lot slower now just so it will register each key. I end up making so many mistakes that I spend a lot of time having to backspace and correct things.

I guess the solution for me is to go back to ExtremeText but it's just annoying that every damn feature Microsoft implements feels like it's cripped compared to third party software. I wish it just had everything I need built in!
