Guest paholman Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) look at apple... they have released iPhone, made sure that everyone is happy with it, made it clear with its limitations to the market, continued developing and making sure it is as great as it can be, then they released iPhone 3G one year later (perfect timing for any one changing their phones) and DISCONTINUED old iphone so they can concentrate on this one... they release clear rom images with release notes and official updates... they make sure that everybody knows about the bugs and fixes and continue enhancing... Yes, well, in my opinion, Apple aren't that perfect. I bought the 3G as soon as it came out as Steve Jobs announced it had 3G and built in GPS. I thought great, the two things my 1st gen iPhone didn't have. Advertising built-in GPS on the iPhone is one thing, but six months since it's release (ok, 4 months) we're still waiting for some sort of useful Sat Nav software it. All it's good for at the moment is to pin-point your current location and tell you where the nearest coffee bar is, and it even needs network access to download the Google maps too. I say a big sarcastic "whoopee doo". All the new Windows Mobile devices with built-in GPS either have some sort of Sat Nav pre-installed, or have a choice on which one to purchase, TomTom, CoPilot, Garmin etc. At least with those, you know exactly what you're getting, and don't have to wait all this time to actually make full use of some of its advertised features. Plus, the maps are pre-installed, so can be used in those locations where network signal is low, and no need to download constantly when on the move. I personally feel a bit cheated by Apple because of this. OK, they're constantly ironing out those little bugs, but come on Steve Jobs, let TomTom release that iPhone version we all know they've got working, and let us use this device to it's full potential, i.e the same potential some of these new Windows Mobile devices, such as the Omnia, can do out of the box. Guest Jibreil Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Well I agree to what one of you said about being satisfied with what you have bought. I have both the innov8 and Omnia. They were only purchased for the fact that the Hardware specs and OS Implementation is way superior to Nokia or HTC. It's always a healthy things to compare your phones and buy only when your satisfied with what it delivers.
Guest drcarlos Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 TBH in the size of sensor it will have will make the 8mp shooter worse than the 5 in the omnia, saturation of the small sensors occurs over 5mp so an 8mp sensor is a waste of time in a phone. Other than that can't say i'm that bothered. Carl.
