Thinking of upgrading to this on orange, ive been very loyal to the orange spv range but now i fancy gps and wi fi.

is gps free to use?

any general comments on this phone, how good is it?

The GPS itself is certainly free to use, but you'll need to pay for whatever data connection you need to download map updates etc. If you have an un-capped(well sort of) tariff e.g. WnW from T-Mobile this shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure what Orange offers in this regard.

You can use Google Maps in this scenario and not pay anything. Obviously if you want to use TomTom or similar you'll have to part with some cash then.

To clarify this - with TomTom you will have to part with cash to buy it, but not to use it (unless you use the traffic updates services).
