I currently own an HTC Tytn II (kaiser). Now my mobile phone operator has given me the option to get an Samsung I780 cheap as my next phone (for about 120 €). Is the samsung phone equal or in any way better than my tytn 2 ? Should i get it as upgrade (and sell my tytn) or should i stay with my kaiser ?

This all depends on your personal taste.

The advantages are:

- Higher resolution screen (320x320)

- Keyboard not hidden.

- Faster processor.

- Same battery life but you get a second one included.

- Same memory card type is used.

- Cursor mouse.

- Keyboard is actually quite good, but the keys are smaller than the ones from the Kaiser.

The disadvantages are:

- Different connector (Samsung proprietary)

- Gps is not 100% accurate (5 or 10 meters difference, not a big deal)

- Some applications need tweaking to work because of the resolution. Some don't work at all.

- You don't get a real d-pad.

At the end i would not think 2x, but like i said, it's your personall choice ;-)

Regards,

Luís

I just sold my Tytn II (tilt) and got my overseas i780. Flashed to a cooked rom from EFN at xda-devs. Im quite happy. (V5X 128DPI Ultimate)

Pros:

Faster than a Tytn II

Doesnt lag with multiple programs running.

GPS is faster , faster to lock and faster to redraw screen while navigating (Tytn II driver issue)

A lot of tweaks and cabs designed for htc phones work on the i780.

An increasing amount of cooked roms in the works, or already out.

A possible upgrade path to Win 6.5 or Win 7.

Tytn II hardware is starting to show its age.

Good power management.

Cons:

No other phone has such a gigantic amount of cooked roms available as the Tytn II.

Large experience user base for problem solving.

Proprietary Samsung cables.

If there is any specific questions let me know. I was a avid Tilt power user for the better part of 2 years, so I should be able to answer.
