Custom ROM: MoDaCo DTHJ9-MCR03 - Last update 03/11/08

here I'm, flashing is done and I got first issue: My Today screen(desktop) there is horizontally over the Start bar one line to much seems to me.

But anyways I'm going to install now SPB soft and the other stuff and see how it work's.

I got Storage memory free @ first start up: 73.97MB and Program Mem: 60.25MB :D

Hope I can take this line out of the screen

Edit: this bar I got up there is it possible to be the Batti 2.4 ? :lol:

Great ROM no issues yet! Can you also include FlashLite 3.x I do a alot of YouTube from my PDA. Also, it would be great to have some freeware tweaking app.

So far I have no issues all my main programs set up and still 55MB storage free :D thats very good I think

I don't know if it is possible to make the My documents appear on My storage that would be great improvement I think.

I find touchflo by samsung pretty good.

FtouchSL will crash when I try to add exception programs.

If remove Opera browser... how do we get a full version from opera itself? it's still in beta.. and it might not work well with omnia since it's not customized specifically for it.

i use the latest opera beta and is works fine

no problems so far

remove opera from the rom

have nothing to do in the rom

in rom should just programs in which are used for the phone to work

all other staff is individual staff or can be updated every 3 weeks

rom files are not deletable

To all who would like to cook your own ROM. Please note it is not a easy straight forward step by step process. You have to have a general understanding about the process. You have to understand binary numbers and be able to find and determine jumps in binary addresses etc. To add and remove items require editing rgu files and other files similar to a ini file for ROM flashing. If any of these addresses are wrong or rgu files are wrong it may not boot up or may have errors.

In summery it is not as easy as it sounds. Lets be patient and I'm sure we will get more ROM'S from Paul or others.

it rocks man

here are some suggestions

u could install (remove security,omnia sip,omnia thread)

another important thing can u please remove the sms limitation

the omnia only allows 20 recipients in sms.

the extra memory in your rom helped me in installing manila 2d without getting memory low issues

i think rom must be clear, like newly installed wm6.

all samsung widgets etc. not need.

(maybe must be 2 roms clear and with samsung appz.)

and all appz, programz etc. installable.

we can install what we want.

Thank you Paul for your great work. But I prefer to wait a custom rom without/updated flash and Opera. Removal may be better because these files seems to be updated in the future again and again. We can install them as we wish.

Suggestion

- remove Samsung Widget

- remove Opera (newer version is available and should be installed on the 16 memory)

- remove Google launcher

- remove Help

- remove Taskswitcher

- remove All unnecessary languages

- remove Omnia Thread & Omnia SIP

- add a proper taskmanager (as example tkman)

- add Registry editor

- add FlashLite 3.1

- add Touch Diamond 2D UI (Optional)

- Fix Messaging. Omnia make no difference between sms,email and mms. If you insert a picture, the omnia turns automatic into email and mms mode. So the UI for all types of messages are the same.

- Bug: The Incoming SMS tones does not play after the phone is used for a while.

- Bug: Resco Keyboard Pro 5.11 doesn't work properly

- remove opera (newer version is available and should be installed on the 16 memory)

- remove main menu

- remove podcast

- remove rss reader (can read whit outlook)

- remove smart reader / converter

- remove taskswitcher

- remove all unnecessary languages

- add a proper taskmanager (as example tkman)

i think that will be a clean ROM. all other thinks should install everybody individually

+10 (also it would be great to get GPS fixes/enhancements) - its been a nightmare to get TomTom7 working consistently on our Omnias.
