Guest Hendrickson Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 geez ppl. both have there good and bad points. leave it at that. Not start a flaming fanboy vs fanboy thread. This thread should be locked.....
Guest samjuan Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I didn't see anything getting personal or flaming! we are just discussing opinions here! not convincing or fighting! I do not know why people all over the internet get stressed out when they talk about such subjects! "comparing the main forum phone with the iPhone!!!" it is funny, seriously try looking and you will find people asking to lock the subject, and some actually do!!! Lock it or not, this is a forum, and forum means discussions... lets have fun with our phones and discuss whatever we like! ;) if you don't like it, then do not read forum topics that has iPhone! :D
Guest natalie1981_cutie Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Ooohhh, a flaming thread. Love a good war. LOL. Honestly, I'm an Omnia fangirl and I've been to other forums that bash the Omnia and though I would LOVE to put in my two cents, I just don't have the energy to get into a fanboy war. The reason why there are so many mobile phones in the market is mainly because most of us have different interests in a phone. I have a Love/hate relationship with the iPhone. We have an iPhone at home courtesy of my sister and though I REALLY love the iPhone's interface, it ends at that, my personal view is that the Omnia has a lot more to offer but I guess not all people like it just as not all people like the iPhone.
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 and just for info Multitasking: A single CPU Device cant be multitasking. Multitasking descript the method of "one process at the same time". Simple explained: Process 1 must be finish then the share common processing resources work on process 2 Even Omnia is not multitaking able Incorrect. Look at Windows XP on a standard Pentium processor. That was fully capable of multitasking .. what it means is several tasks all running at the same time. What happens is an application puts in a call for some processor time, and the processor issues time slices and percentage processor allowance. Back to the overall thread: It's good that different people value different aspects of different phones otherwise we would all be carrying the same handset and then the world would get very boring! What is clear is that none of the handsets offer the ideal solution to everyone, which is why with each new handset they are getting better and better. The omnia is the first Windows Mobile phone which I would say has gone mainstream, in terms of non-techie people buying and using it. Amusingly it is probably because Apple limited which carriers could have the iPhone! Would the omnia be as popular if it weren't the iphone replacement for people such as Orange in the UK ??? Somehow I don't think so, despite being a great handset. So thank you apple for bringing Windows Mobile to the masses! Im sure over the next couple of generations of handsets there will be a lot of exciting advances including OS choices too; Windows Mobile 7, iPhone 3, and Android. More competition forces the handset developers and os developers to really make something special that attracts itself to potential purchasers. If you don't mind I'll leave it there, and close this thread!
