Vario III in New Zealand

When I go to New Zealand later this year, will I be able to put a local SIM in and have it work (assuming I get it SIM unlocked)?

I moved over here about 3 weeks ago along with my Vario III and I'm on the Vodafone network. I made sure I SIM unlocked my device and tested it before I came over. I also used NoData before I left to disable the Internet which I must say I do miss :D
