Guest sector Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Great ROM! Thanks! One very minor thing is the email widget where there is a white rectangle at the bottom of the envelope. I think it's just a matter of fixing the HTCHomeSettings.xml file (as discussed in the Manila 2D thread of the forum) but I cannot access the file in this ROM (i.e. I cannot over-write it - probably because it is protected). Can anyone tell me how to over-write it? Would TotalCommanderCE do a better job than file explorer for this? Thanks! If u install one of the themes it will be fixed !
Guest TOG9 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 If u install one of the themes it will be fixed  ! Thanks! Will do.
Guest twentyone Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Great great work  Just one question - it says in the description that Manila 2D Customizer is installed but I can't seem to find in neither in Programs nor in Windows directory. Am I missing something here ? I would like to try some of sector's adapted skins, but I was wondering if they reflect on the performance in any way ? Thank you all guys for the great contribution :D

Guest X-t-r-e-m-e Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Did anyone notice you have an i900N now instead of i900. Well at least mine says it's an i900N ... dunno  Noticed it on my Parrot.
Guest us1111 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) Okaye.. I created a small executable that can mimic the original as described earlier. Use it as follows: Let's assume you wan't to fool manilla to use thumbcal instead of the windows calendar: rename the original /windows/calendar.exe to calendar_.exe (Probably won't work in rom) rename first and overwrite the run.exe to /windows/calendar.exe (Accept the warning from resco) create a file "/windows/calendar.run" (alongside the custom calendar.exe) with the following line: /My Storage/Program Files/Thumbcal,-va The .run file contains only one line which is divided by a comma.. First element is the executable and after the ',' come the arguments. If the .run file in the rom will be editable, we can ourselves choose our applications to be started by manilla...Also in the original rom, you can overwrite the .exe with (for example) resco explorer.. Features and comments are welcome! I'm already using it for thumbcal and icontact and works like a charm.. This way you can replace all original executables with custom ones (on storage card). Arguments for Thumbcal: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa911847.aspx Arguments for Icontact: -openIn=<1,2,3> (1 - Favorites, 2 - Call History, 3 - All Contacts) -openHistoryIn=<1,2,3,4> (1 - All, 2 - Missed, 3 - Incoming, 4 - Outgoing) -favoritesCat= (catname - name of the category to use as Favorites, should be in quotes if contain spaces) -showSimContacts=<1/0> (1 to show, 0 to hide) Example: iContact.exe -openIn=1 -openHistoryIn=2 -favoritesCat="My Friends" -showSimContacts=1run.exe Edited October 28, 2008 by us1111

I've successfully flashed a new ROM a couple of times to my Omnia which is network locked to Orange UK. Flashing does not affect the Sim lock.

Guest kenzoi900 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 will i have a problem when update to this rom (DTHJ6/M2D02) my version is PDA:XXHG5/MSHG1
Guest us1111 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) wow dude  i will try it later and update you. bunch of thanks!!! callog.run: \Storage Card\Program Files\iContact\iContact.exe,-openin=2 HTCAlbum.run: \Program Files\ImageViewer\ImageViewer.exe, calendar.run: \Storage Card\Program Files\ThumbCal\Thumbcal.exe,-va -new Starting icontact and thumbcal from home screen, PocketCM Viewer from foto tab. I would suggest first running them in a temp directory before overwriting the originals! A hard reset or a manual made copy is the only way to get the overwritten file back! Guest wingw Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Thanks for the link, I knew this could solve the problem. I tried it, it solve the Chinese display problem but it also changed the default English font to tahoma. Default English letters in i900 are actually smaller than tahoma, so as Chinese characters. Turns out it doesn't fit into some icons or texts in certain softwares. I actually prefer the original i900DZHJ1.CSC, it doesn't has any problem at all. I'm not too sure but guess the link is for HTC, isn't it? Again, thanks for PaSSoA's ROM. It's really a great rom. I used the fonts on that site for both my Eten X500+ and Omnia and both work fine, sorry it didn't work out for you.
Guest bobobird Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 You can download the theme for you girlfriend here my friend. Happy birthday! http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-r...emes-for-omnia/ Thank you brother, that was fast. Now to reflash... and package the phone. hehe

Guest chiber Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Hi guys ! Thanks so much Passoa for your ROM ! It seems almost perfect but I have a little problem : how add a new city in the weather tab ? Thanks !
Guest Nick5ter Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Hi Passoa, You remember me saying how the bluetooth audio would cut out when listening to music... well still happens on this new rom, but it happens even without the bluetooth connected but not as often. The connection to the computer seems to be a vista and device ceter thing, its just crap :D.. just using a VM image of XP now just fine. Time doesnt appear to be out of sync anymore  and lastly the power light on the top doesnt work when i install Garmin XT thingy ;) I have to say though that the battery life on this thing is so much better... since your second release. Thanks Nick
Guest georo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) Hey guys is any way we can change the icons for the programs which are already in the ROM I was thinking to change them with something more closer with the theme. Edited October 28, 2008 by georo
Guest pp56825 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 callog.run: \Storage Card\Program Files\iContact\iContact.exe,-openin=2 HTCAlbum.run: \Program Files\ImageViewer\ImageViewer.exe, calendar.run: \Storage Card\Program Files\ThumbCal\Thumbcal.exe,-va -new Starting icontact and thumbcal from home screen, PocketCM Viewer from foto tab. I would suggest first running them in a temp directory before overwriting the originals! A hard reset or a manual made copy is the only way to get the overwritten file back! Thats realy cool, can we do the same with cprog.exe ? how you was able to overwrite system files with resco explorer, when i'm doing it it's saying that permission deny.
Guest nickjay Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 noob question - will this work on a uk omnia, e.g. after flash will all the network settings and stuff still auto detect? Also my omnia is a vodafone one, does that make a difference? cheers I have a UK Omnia, not Voda locked though, both version 01 and 02 installed without a hitch. ROM recognised and used the SIM settings of my operator, no problems at all. I also note that when entering the PIN after a reboot, with the Samsung ROM it used to try to make a data connection, then report an error over the pin key entry panel because it could not connect ! This is gone in both build 01 and 02, works as every other WM phone I have had now. PassOa, these ROM's are just pure Art  Battery live, MUCH improved over the Samsung ROM, and 02 better over 01. More device memory, fast responsive interface (finally), WLAN control works in 02, could not get it to work in 01 took a lot of off, on, reboots etc before CommMgr started to work with WLAN with one touch. Only glitch so far seems to be on MS Live email, have to set it up twice, it does not remember the setup, then on the 3rd try it mystically works, same issue with 01 and 02. IMAP/POP3 email works fine. Weather, well looks great, worked when I installed 02 yesterday, now just flashes 'updating' but does not make any data connection, yes download auto and whilst roaming are both on. A reboot cleared it up and the animation looks cool. Perhaps the poor phone is confused by the snow that has fallen all around me and settled in Berkshire and simply cannot believe the update data ! Snow - Berkshire - Settle - October ! Browsing a pleasure. I did re-install Magic Button, after only a weekend with build 01, missed it in an hour with 02. Well, they do say it's the small things in life that matter the most :D Just waiting for landscape capability with baited breath.....
Guest pp56825 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 (edited) us1111, can you make some custom version for me, such which will execute different programs depending with which arguments renamed run.exe will be executed. it can looks like this: -openin=2;/progarm files/idialer/idialer.exe,-openin=2 else;/windows/cprog_org.exe Edited October 29, 2008 by pp56825
