Guest shokka9 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Shokka from where I can download Total Commander for Windows Vista. Look here my friend :( http://www.ghisler.com/
Guest micrographics Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I downloaded and after installation when I did the steps suggested by you, nothing happened. It is not extracting Update.exe
Guest shokka9 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 it doesnt extract it so to speak....highlight it, then Control & page down, you should see 2 or 3 more files (under it), UPDATE.exe will be one of them. Now copy that (UPDATE.exe) out of there, drag and drop it on your desktop (or wherever you wnat it). It works, as this is what i do (and others - lots of). Then put the exe thru Pako'a app.
Guest horon Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Hi Shokka. I am beginner for rom cooking. I use the syakr kitchen. How can I adding .cab programs during rom cooking?
Guest shokka9 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 they need to be converted into packages... You can use sztupy's cab2pkg command in shell, but i use also ervius Package creator v2.7 as it is simple easy and works most of the time. Doing this, does not guarantee that the packages will work. SOme cabs cannot be turned in packages, and some will not work at all. Sometimes deleting the .rgu file that is created can work, depends on what the cab is for. Good luck. There is a txt file in the kitchen for cab2pkg commands and how to use it.
Guest horon Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 (edited) Thanks Shokka. I'll try it. Edited March 5, 2009 by horon

Or, try this method: ROM Building for Dummies (i900) using SYOK

Guest shokka9 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 if this DXIA5 is from the Samsung site, you need to extract the updater from that. Use Total Commander or Winrar. Then you can put the exe you get thru the kitchen. :excl: If that is your problem. I used to use XP SP3 and i have no issues, so it's not that bro... Good luck

I want to work with an original source. Tks a lot, Pedro.

(You need to use UPDATE.exe in i900_Executor) E você não está fazendo isso, com certeza! (And I'm certain that you aren't doing it)
Guest Nhialor Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 When I extract the Rom.exe it gives me the 3 folders...but nothing is in the OEM folder, and v.little in the SYS Folder, (only /.ROM /.VM and Beta, make your own rom), what have I done wrong?

Guest Nhialor Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Ok, thanks, sorted that out. I have now extracted a rom, but where is the .rgu file to open? In which folder?
Guest Bouvrie Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) Ok, thanks, sorted that out. I have now extracted a rom, but where is the .rgu file to open? In which folder? I'm rather stuck at this point too. Perhaps it's because I'm using Secany's DXID1 exe as a base, could it be that the .rgu file is missing from specific ROM releases? PaSSoA mentioned he removed the rgu's from his releases, but I assumed the semi-official Samsung ROM update should have the rgu's intact? Or, do people construct their DXID1 derivative ROMs based on rgu's they got from yet another ROM? Basically I'm trying to create a lite DXID1 ROM with Windows Mobile 6.1. Haven't seen one around anyway. ;) *edit* Just tried shokka9's guide, searching for rgu's there does produce a list:_dats\Install_20757XIP\ROM\XIP\723fb954-d931-4348-b672-82a188e587b5.rgu _dats\Install_20757XIP\ROM\XIP\boot.rgu _dats\Install_20757XIP\ROM\XIP\boot_ms.rgu _dats\Install_20954XIP\ROM\XIP\723fb954-d931-4348-b672-82a188e587b5.rgu _dats\Install_20954XIP\ROM\XIP\boot.rgu _dats\Install_20954XIP\ROM\XIP\boot_ms.rgu _dats\Install_Favorite_hackings\FavHacks\e27fa0d5-0ff5-4d41-9fb4-8647b8190b56.rgu _dats\Install_HTCTaskMan\HTCTaskMan\a0e9457e-943c-44b4-9fe9-aed55e8a775f.rgu _dats\Install_M2D19b\ZM2D19b\5490c94e-9d76-496b-bd6c-73ddf6166fd1.rgu _dats\Install_M2D19b_Lite\ZM2D19b\5490c94e-9d76-496b-bd6c-73ddf6166fd1.rgu _dats\Install_M2D21\ZM2D19be6eabc-1053-4e1a-a8ea-51edf3ecdbc5.rgu _dats\Install_Remote_Tracker\RemoteTracker\bd859fbb-d361-4c95-8def-8536ff88474c.rgu _dats\Update_dotNET_CE_to_35\Netcfv35\a8f43c9f-bc38-430e-81d1-a2e6c650f225.rgu _dats\Update_flash_to_31\ZZ_AdobeFlash\d726fef1-c84d-40f5-9010-07a6a3fd70a7.rguSo at least I'm getting somewhere now with the kitchen from that thread. :D Though unless I need any of the ROM\XIP\boot*.rgu files, 'the rgu' as mentioned in the topic still seems to elude me. Where did you see a *lite* WM6.1 DXID1 ROM? Especially ones without that bloated fullscreen volume tweak. :D I think shokka's ROMs are nice, but AFAIK he only released a WM6.5 DXID1 ROM, and called it his last? :D Either way, I'm still interested in building my own ROMs anyway. ;) Edited June 29, 2009 by Bouvrie
