Guest ArieHa Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 I have question , I have tried search contacts by numbers and letters but program couldn`t find it any. Do I have to put it manualy to my Omnia ? I don`t know what is going now ?? Thank You Hi 'Darius121' Can you give some more details? How many contacts do you have? When you touch the O3Toch line on top of screen, do you get to page over all your phone book? If you press one letter, do you get some results on screen? What is the search mode you are using “Start with...” or “contains…”? How exactly you contact(s) is written in outlook (first / middle / last)

Guest Motofone Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Hi 'Motofone', Thanks for your remarks, 1+ 2 will be fixed within the next release. Any other remarks and ideas you have will be blessed. Ok just another small item... There is no way to get # key into dialing. A lot of codes for phones use the # key for access... ie; *#06# for IMEI serial No. Cheers....

Do you ever need the # at the beginning of a number or only inside the number? Some schedule changes. I hope that by the end of next week we will release a desktop editor for localization and skin editing, together with a compatible version of the application, counting some bug fix and implementation of remakes. Well, you need the # when you in call (most of the time) so you need it on the generic dialer that opens during the call. 99% of calls and dialling not need the #... how many times you use IMEI? I is defently point of thinking.

Ok just one example......what about sound fix for Omnia on this site?...... *#0002*28346# Hash is always on dialer keypad of all phones even your home/work landline phone.....# is used in some dialing codes What about when you dial companies and they ask you to press the hash key for verification?..... * and # key is integeral part of all dialing keypads and should be included in this one to make it complete..... Thank you cheers. Edited October 30, 2008 by Motofone
Guest Massive Attack Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks brother and also thanks for brining this app to our attention. edit : remapping Phone key works but reverts back to phone after a reset. Any soloutions ?? move the .cpl file inside the windows directory, then look at your setting->system->softkey :lol:SoftKeyApplet.rar

Hi Motofone, you made you point and you are right, but my issue is a bit different: do we ever need the # at the beginning of a number?
Guest M Seif Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Great application, fast and practical, thanks for sharing! Has anyone tried the Inesoft address book ? it is so called , but it is really : 1- A great dilaer , very big buttons with smart dialing, scrolling horizontally between the found contacts very easliy . 2- you can then dial or sms or edit easily . 3- Its address book / contatcs is very nice with many options , editing and adding . 4- it has also a big favorate tab with many pages and many options also. I dare any one of you , to try it and then revert to anything else.

I tried it several time , true it is good lookin fellow. but, there are some things that have follow ups: 1. if you don't have contacts in english you have searching problems, actually you can't search a contact. 2. editing the keyboard to a nother loanguage is hell to do. 3. my device (KAISER) have less 5-8% memory after installing the app. 4. the scrolling is not usefull (in any WM device), here it's just stack over onw scrolling - and I know how to benefit maximum from scrolling 6.when you have several applications running parallel , the application being very slow and havy. 7. the SMS is just open the regular SMS app of the WM . - not usefull.... 8. the APP can't deal E-MAIL and SMS at all! 9. trying editing contact or new contact is not touchy and actually you are having the same screen like the WM. - not usefull... and - it's 30$ cost. So, bottom line is , you have just nice skin of app. nothing more! I prefer easy touching fast and stable one like O3touch. - and most important - free! Edited November 1, 2008 by shlomshi

Now , the most important is that it uses smart dialing unlike the O3 , when I searched for " seif " by using O3, I had to push the four buttons 12 times to get 4 contacts , while I have 8 of them, so had to enter more letters. In the same example , in Inesoft, I pushed 4 pushes only , got 8 names on 2 pages using scrolling once only , and it is very smooth thanks to Omnia. Unless it uses the smart dialing ( and I did not know it ) , it uses many buttons/pushes to find 4 contacts. Thanks Edited November 1, 2008 by M Seif
Guest HasC Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Now , the most important is that it uses smart dialing unlike the O3 , when I searched for " seif " by using O3, I had to push the four buttons 12 times to get 4 contacts , while I have 8 of them, so had to enter more letters. Unless it uses the smart dialing ( and I did not know it ) , it uses many buttons/pushes to find 4 contacts. Thanks There are two modes that can be used in O3, You can either search by the sequence of letters in the order you type them e.g. B...I...L will bring any names beginning with BIL or you can switch to an alternative mode where you can search by any names that contain any of the letters that you choose (which is my preferred method). To change the settings, you should 1. Press any letter to start searching for a contact (providing you have a contact name that begins with the letter you choose) 2. Select from the result/s any name that shows up from the search and keep your finger on the contact name and you will hear two clicks. You will also see on the O3 interface that by the word Touch (underneath the contact name) that there will be a letter "S" in green. 3. Let go of the name and the "S" will change to "C" and the colour will change to green. 4. Now try searching again for "S...E..I..F", this time you will notice that the names that contain the letters anywhere in the text will now be displayed and as you add letters the list gets narrowed down to match the contacts. These setting can also be changed using the settings menu within the program. The above process does sound like a lot of steps, but in reality takes only seconds to do.

Thanks I find it hard to follow you counting. 225ms auto changing letter on the same touch is not a click. Also notice that we have at least two types of clicks, “fast click” when you have a earlier knowledge where to “click”, and “slow click” when you need to process information, make a design and locate where to click. Some more info to HasC post The optimal search method is changing according to some factors. If you have few hundreds of contacts, probably typing tow to three letters will be good for finding your contact. If you imported your contacts from other system and the first and last name are in the same filed, you will probably switch between “start with...” to “Contain...” If you have over 1000 contacts, and they are properly written in first and last name fields, the best way is to type a letter or two + space + letter or two. That method is very powerful also for smaller number of contact and it is the recommended one for day to day use. At any point you can touch the top line and see all the output results for the typed letters.
Guest shlomshi Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I see that the O3touch new version 3.21 is out: http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-h...-mobile-dialer/
Guest ArieHa Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Hi, This is stunning app. Quite a steep learning curve but when you get it all undercontrol it is a great piece of kit. Phone manufacturers will be after this one. Only one nagging prob so far..... 1...If you turn the app off and back on again it always opens in night skin (no prob to reset) but better if you could set default skin. 2...In settings The Set Process reverts back to default state of messaging on restarting....This one is annoying as requires typing all settings in every time. Apart from that it sure beats all that scrolling nonsense and that silly letter bar at the side of Samsung app. Nice job.. B) B) Hello Motofone I think you will like the new version 3.21 O3Touch
Guest Zohare Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Is it possible to assign the dialling hard key to use this dialer?
Guest ArieHa Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Is it possible to assign the dialling hard key to use this dialer? Yes you can. Press start > settings > keys (or maybe it calls buttons) Select the button you wish to assign and on the commbox below select O3Touch Was it helpful?

As far as I remember, it is not possible from settings.
Guest ArieHa Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 The point is I like to assign the call hard key. As far as I remember, it is not possible from settings. Even if it was possible to assign the “Green” button to the application (the short click), I would not recommend it, and as much as I know you do not have the option for “long press” on the “green” button with the original ROM of the Omnai. In order to keep high compatibility with wide range of devices, the application designed to function to side by side with the generic dialer, mainly for operating the “hardware oriented” tasks. The Omnia users I know assign the application to the short click of the “Main menu” button (the top one). I hope it is helpful.
