Guest finaldestiny Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 the widget for missing calls, sms, etc dont show the right time i tried to send myself a sms like 17:00 it would show 12:00 on the widget, same thing for missing calls its weird cuz i had a touch diamond and it was the same thing in the TF3D sms panel and its also my second omnia and the first had the same problem too really hope someone can help out.. cuz its annoying Sounds more like a network issue than a phone one. I believe it gets its information on when stuff was received from your phone network. Stuff like sms are network-time stamped right? Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Guest spastee Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Seems to work for me, reply and new messages. Dont have that problem either. New or reply message the "My Text" is as I have set them. Not sure which Omnia you are using though... so that may be the issue. Omnia i910. hey thanks for your input....i'm using the i900 (DXHG3) but upgraded the rom to DXHI1 but the above mentioned glitches still exist...which rom are u using?
Guest ultraviolet4u Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Hi guys My Omnia clock (both system and widget clock) changes when I connect the phone to the PC. I keep re-setting it right but every next time I connect the phone to the pc it advances 1 1/2 hours. I have "manual only" set for DST, so that's not it. My Vista PC is also set NOT to syncronize time with the internet time, so that's not it either. Any solution to this? Thanks.

Out of curiosity, is the time on your computer 1 1/2 hours ahead of your phone's? Cuz if it is then thats probably where the syncing is coming from.
Guest samjuan Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Most of the time my phone would freeze. like 5 secs freeze. it returns back to normal after the freeze for 1 sec. and it keeps repeating. Any idea what caused all these? i believe it got to do with the phone sleeping and S2U2. i am going to try to have the S2U2 deactivated. and see whether the problem still arise. This happens to me once every week, I thought it was S2U2 too, but it happens even if you don't have anything installed (after a fresh hard reset). 5 sec freeze, back, then freeze and so on, I thought I had to reset the phone to get it back to normal, however if you leave it alone for a while, it will be normal without a reset, then again if you receive a phone call , it will not ring neither will it leave a missed call.
Guest wyettetrashe Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I just got the Omnia a few days ago and now it's been 8 hours with the phone function locked off. I do not have the "Time Zone updating: manual only" option on my phone. Please help. I ended up returning to Verizon to exchange the phone because it was defective out of the box. No matter how many times I pulled the battery the phone function would NOT turn back on. It seemed to have something to do with the system clock updating as well as the airplane mode kicking in when the battery first got low. The phone I had all showed "n/a" in the version info screen. The new phone I exchanged it for, as well as the floor model in the Verizon store, all had some sort of information besides "n/a" in the description field in the version information. What I hadn't noticed was that the touch screen was very unresponsive right from the start. My first calibration of the phone took 10 minutes. Pushing even finger friendly buttons on the screen was very tough as well. The reason I didn't notice it was because I had never owned a touch screen device. In any event, Verizon was very understanding (which was quite frankly amazing) and they did a "serial number" switch. They basically gave me another new Omnia i910, updated the new serial number to my account and returned the original to Samsung. If you try and return it DO NOT let Verizon use the 30 day guarantee. You are only allowed one 30 day exchange and I wanted to keep that option available if I wanted to switch phones. Also, do not let them charge you a restocking fee for a phone that does not work. It seems the problem was with the Rom/Firmware being either non-existant or super old. When I was looking for upgrades I couldn't find one for the US. Maybe one is available now, but not that I know of. Hopefully this info helps.
Guest jutley Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 i am using uk MSHJ1 Rom and when i change themes in today you have to soft reset to get them to change properly i mean the theme changes but the background does not upon a soft reset all is well a very bad bug can someone else confirm this hope they can fix this on the next uk update.
Guest Nost@lgia Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 hi im using j1 and ive notice a freezing/sleeping bug too while wifi is on. when you leave the wifi on and its not connected(unavailable, etc.) , the phone seems to freeze after going into suspend for more than a minute. the only way to wake the phone from this "sleep" is to soft-reset. yes, I experienced same things often.. cuz I do use wifi a lot at work and home... so I really pay attention to turning off wi-fi after using it... even u make phone not to turn off wi-fi on suspend mode.. it sometimes freezes phone....

How about your setting at Power Options - WiFi tab? Do you have power saving mode turned off? I have it on and everything is OK.
Guest Nost@lgia Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) How about your setting at Power Options - WiFi tab? Do you have power saving mode turned off? I have it on and everything is OK. surely it has no problem with power saving mode on. But I use it sometimes w/o power saving on. If it's WM6 problem, then they have to prevent device from going suspend while wi-fi on.... Otherwise I have to change power option for battery mode according to my working situation. Guest Mahuka Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 1) Does anyone have a problem whereby every now and then when you finish a call the phone freezes on the home screen? I've had it about 3 times in the last 3 weeks. The only way to pull the phone out is a soft reset. You can press the end key and hear the tones but its completely frozen on the home screen (this is directly after finishing a conversation)... 2) And My Internet Sharing keeps disconnecting is this just my phone or does it happen to others. Sometimes It will work (Internet Sharing for 30mins or so - on a very good day) Any help would be much appreciated
Guest optikalblitz Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 i910 On Verizon Bug: Will not complete soft-reset when attempted while USB is connected. It hangs at the Verizon Wireless start-up screen and does not accept any input. Only resolution so far: Hard reset (Send & End Keys at black "Omnia" screen) i have SPB Shell and SPB Keyboard installed. i JUST hard-reset it before this happened again and that's when i found out the USB connection was the issue. is there a way to get the phone booted completely?
Guest dwethiswar Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 maybe late , but @spastee: 3) is not really a 'bug' and can be set in the regisrty using Advanced Configuration tool for example

Guest dwethiswar Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 search and download .net 3.5 framework from the Microsoft site (exact link is on this forum somewhere), install while the phone is connected through activesync. Then search and download Advanced Configuration Tool. Run it, go to Phone options, one of them allows to set how long call log will persist (up till severeal months if I remember correctly)
Guest johnny64 Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Found another odd and most irritating "bug". Car charger not charging the phone when using GPS program (I've used both Route 66 and iGO8), it'll stop charging the Omnia after a while leaving you with almost empty battery when you got to your destination (3 to 4 hrs driving). With my previous HTC phone (Trinity) I had no problem with car charger when using GPS (TomTom). When not using GPS it'll charge as usual. I'm using the OEM Samsung  car charger that came with the phone when I got it here fro my service provider in Australia. i wonder if some one else has encountered the same issue B) . I've checked the Omnia settings but nada.

I've checked the Omnia settings but nada. I think what happened was after you plugged it in, the battery got charged to the maximum and the automatic cut off came into effect. But after 3-4 hours of drive, without charge, it became flat again. Try unplugging and replugging your charger halfway through your drive.
Guest JosephLee Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Dear friends, Firstly I apologise for reposting this post again as I think I posted the previous one under the wrong thread. What happened to me is that my girlfriend complained that she called me and I did not answer my call at all. So I check my handphone in front of her and showed her that I did not have any missed call at all. She then showed me her and it revealed that she did cal me several times (9 times in facts over 10 minutes). Suspecting that something is wrong, I made a call to my self (ie Handphone A, a normal handphone, call OMnia) and what happened is that I can hear that the call is connect (ie ring ring ring) but no reaction on my Omnia??? I had previously got this problem before and then I discovered that it could be G Alarm (pls dun get me wrong, I love this alrm software but coincidental it caused an error) which caused it as I did not have any problems after uninstalling it. However, since upgrading to the latest firmware DZIA5, the same thing happened again =( Other than the usual softwares I install previously, the only new one was the Omniatetris (or spell something like that). For convenience, the list of software I installed are as follows:- AE Button Coreplayer Dinarsoft Handyswitcher hc4 obexinbox PowerSMS Resco Explorer vijay Devicelock Thumbcal WM5 New Menu HTC Phone Pad resco Bubbles Atomic Cannon Astraware Casino PcoketUno Omnia Teeter SMS report eraser G4SIP tweak Asphalt4 Agis Navfone Is anyone facing the same problem as well? Hope someone can enlighten me on this error. Coz one of my friend who is also using Omnia is facing the same problem. The worst part of the problem is that this error (phone not reaction when incoming call) it does not occur immediately, ie after you install or launch a new software or program so it is pretty hard to know if you have this problem as well till someone complain that you are not answering their calls. Anyway, I also have another problem. This is one which I have faced all along. Incoming call alert does not display any names or number... The bubble will pop up at the bottom of the screen but no details (ie no number, no names, no private number, no display) but will display photo if it is in your contact. Its seems like this problem has something to do with the messaging as when I close messaging and call myself again, it will appear. Does anyone have any cure for this?
Guest elhamy201 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 i have a very annoying problem and i really need help every time i try to turn off the phone after samsung's demo the screen goes black with very dim light and hangs , must remove the battery and plug it in again to turn it on please if any one experienced similar problem feed me back
Guest tibor22 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I have the latest official firmware DXIA5, downloaded from Samsung support website. Generally I like this rom, it's quite fast, with a lot of widgets and finger friendly apps (Favorite Settings, etc.). The power consumption isn't bad either. So far I've found two bugs in the ROM. 1. the new E-mail/SMS widget shows up on Today screes only once after soft reset. Then it won't work until the next soft reset. More precisely: you can see on the sidebar that there is a new message because the small grey icon turns green but it doesn't appear on the main screen area. 2. I have installed several Java games that work with Omnia and all of them really worked on my device, but only without voice. At the beginning of the game it usually asks to turn on sound or not. If I choose YES, the game suddenly quits wit an error message. If I choose NO, the game runs without problem, but it's not nice to play tennis or conduct a car race muted... Whatever Java prog I try, the problem is the same. (my Java engine build number: v3.3.6,20081226a). Can others, having the same rom, confirm my experience? Is there any solution or workabout for these problems? cherrs, ctibor

Guest bahamut_2000 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Hi all, Just got my new Omnia with Optus last week and one thing's really bugging me: my phone doesn't recognise the number of ANY incoming call (even from my Contacts) so all the incoming numbers in my call log are "Private". This is really annoying if you have a miscall and dunno who to call back to. By the way, the caller id is displaying fine for all my SMS. My roms (out of the box, un-mod): PDA: i900DFHL1/DFHL1 Phone: u900XXHL1 Any one's having similar problem? Please help!!

I noticed the phone gets unusually hot when using the gps and car charger. My theory is that this is a heat problem and not firmware related, but i might be wrong and some developer just never tested the gps on car charger... Let me know if you find something. Im taking mine in for repairs or my money back.
