Guest smcqis Posted October 29, 2008 Report Share Posted October 29, 2008 can i use wi fi to say for example connect to an internet connection that is not my phones an use the net for free like in mcdonalds?? if so how do i do this? i got net at home so dont wana cost me a fortune by using it unneccarily so was hoping jus to use it for free?? Guest SSR Posted October 30, 2008 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 Wifi reception isn't dependent on phone reception, as it is a totally separate aerial/connection etc. As long as you're reasonably close to the wifi point you're going to pick it up, with the usual caveats about number of obstacles between you and the aerial e.g. walls. Guest SSR Posted November 3, 2008 Report Share Posted November 3, 2008 When you enable wireless you'll see a symbol akin to a chess pawn appear on the status bar. Typicall you'll see this animating with arrows and dots to show it's negotiating a connection. When connected the animations stop, and you should see a pawn with static arrows to the right of it.
