Guest necosino Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 I run on average 4-7 miles/day, and it takes maybe an hour, tops. During this time I am using SportyPal, Streaming audio via WunderRadio, and bluetoothing this to my headphones. This takes up maybe 10% of my battery life, if that.. So unless you're going for, as said, like 6 hours, I think it's a great solution. :)
Guest 07aspenx Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Works with WMP, Core player and touch player. Does not work with TCPMP. Not sure about nitrogen I can test that later though. You can't control Nitrogen with the Jabra BT3030. I use Pocket Player and CorePlayer.
Guest liksur Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I use this arm band cell-phone carrier for running. http://beelan.manufacturer.globalsources.c...-Phone-Case.htm
Guest kreativ Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Love this app, I've been using it for some time as well.
Guest liksur Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 There is a new update for the Sportypal 1.0.8 in which some issues are fixed, but the thing that caught my eye is that now on the screen i can see my pace in real time while running.
Guest kreativ Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 I found these new tools on sportypal.com. Setting goals (in my case, I have to cycle at least 22 hours prior to 22/10) which you can then trace through the website. If you use the same hand every time you're practicing, you can even compare your workout. For now I'm not doing well at all with the cycling hours :) :(, I hope i'll have some nice weather this weekend.
Guest dwallersv Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Out of interest how do you all run with your Omnia? Do you have an arm band? I tried going out running with the phone in hand, which the only real problem I have is that I'm running with an MP3 player in the other hand (Omnia's player is far too fiddly, requires 3.5mm adapter). Also I don't particularly like the idea of my phone being covered in sweat... So do you use an arm band or anything similar? Could you provide any links to what you use? Also that Jabra BT3030 looks quite interesting - what windows mobile music player is it compatible with, or generally all of them? I've go a BT3030, and can't sing its praises enough! It's a generic BT device, so it will work as an audio output device for any player that will play over BT. In terms of control , it will work with any player that supports AVRCP. In my case, it has been fully functional for the Samsung player, CorePlayer, and Pocket Player (my default for listening to music). For excercising, this is an ideal solution, especially for things like weight training. In this case, you can leave you Omnia in a workout bag in the gym, and listen to and control the player from the BT dogtag. It is very tolerant of getting wet/sweaty. I even take it into the dry sauna for 20-30 minutes @ 190F and copiously sweat all over the thing with no problem. Something I could never do with the Omnia itself and a wired headset, or an iPod. While functionally its just as good as any BT headset for ordinary phonecalls, unless you like wearing the thing around your neck, it comes up short in that arena. However, when working out listening to tunes, it's been really great on several occassions to get and answer a phone call easily while I was working out.

Guest rupert_hollom Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks. I've just been giving SportyPal a try today out on the bike and I can't really fault it. Compared to all the other applications I've tried it is far less fiddly, with a very slick looking interface. Just as a matter of interest - where do you put the phone whilst cycling, I put mine in the back pocket of my cycling top but it appeared to loose the GPS signal, although it was quite a while ago and I might have used the power button rather than let SportyPal turn the screen off itself. Cheers.
Guest pules Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 awesome post. I'm using GpsCycleComputer and love it. I'm also using a clear hard see through plastic cover on my phone. The cover comes with a belt clip. I just bought another belt clip and mounted that clip on my handle bar. I'm able to view the phone as I'm riding and GpsCycleComputer works really really well.GpsCycleComputer_3.100.CAB
Guest kreativ Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 (edited) If you want to have clean and accurate line on the map, the phone must be on some holder on the bar of the bike. I have this one, http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/bicycle-phone-holder-p14252.htm I got it from E-bay, now I'm looking for water proof case. Edited October 22, 2009 by kreativ

Guest liksur Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Taken from sportypal.com Windows Mobile SportyPal 1.2 A new update is now online for Windows Mobile users. This update allows you to use all the workout types that are available on the website. Here’s a list of changes in the new version: Added new workout types: skiing, rowing, horse riding, driving, flying, sailing, swimming, hiking, paragliding, snowboarding, Oodles of new workout types cross-country skiing, surfing and golfing. Oodles of new workout types To use one of the new workout types, go to the free style workout icon in the activity selection screen. This will open a new screen where you can select from a list of the new types. Note that none of the new types show your calories during a workout, but feel free to upload them, and we’ll add the calories as soon as we set them up. - Added variable sampling rates according to workout type. - Altitude mode is auto-detected now. There should be no need to set it manually now, but the option’s still there in the profile screen if you need it. - Added an experimental auto-pause feature. We still don’t know if it works well on all devices, but you can turn it off in the profile screen if you don’t like it. - The workout tracking map screen now displays the correct current speed instead of the average speed (oops). - Removed the splash screen. Starting SportyPal now takes you directly to the main menu. - When uploading, you’ll get a notification when a new version is available. The notification should contain a clickable link that you can use to download the new version directly. - SportyPal now sends unit system information properly when using the device to create an account. If you register an account with imperial units selected, you’ll see imperial units when you log in to the website with that account. - Fixed several extremely rare bugs that make SportyPal unstartable, like corrupted workouts or map images being saved. - Also fixed a potential Facebook-related crash (“potential” as in “no one has reported it, but it was bound to happen sooner or later”). - SportyPal now checks for and attempts to correct negative length/time workouts. - Fixed the pop-up menus that sometimes refused to appear. - The profile screen should start-up much faster now. - Added some instructions on where you should place the device during the workout. They show up while you’re waiting for a GPS signal fix. - You no longer have to enter an e-mail address to start a workout. You only need to enter your weight now. - Fixed several translation-related bugs in the sharing screen. - The sharing screen should now close itself after a successful share. http://sportypal.com/Downloads/winmo/SportyPal.CAB
