Guest davsug Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 I was just playing with my X1, and the 3G icon popped up next to the signal strength. It went away after a little while, but is this (X1i) compatible with the US Tmo 3G network? That would be a pleasant suprise.

I dont think it's compatible with Tmobile 3g
Guest Jelster Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Perhaps a dumb reply but is it possible the phone connected for a short period to AT&T and then dropped due to you not being a subscriber?
Guest Coolhorn Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 T-Mobile is using 2 different 3G frequencies, one for upload, another for download...the 2100 band is the same as part of AT&T's 3G network, but 1700 is not. It's quite possible the phone was just detecting availability of 2100, but your T-Mobile sim card (and data plan) won't allow for actual usage of the network...
