I have the Verizon i910. I plugged it into the TV this morning to vie a video and it did not even find the file when I used File Explorer. :) . It then proceeded to shut the screen down on the Omnia after about 10 second. Every time I stopped touching the screen it went into sleep mode. There are no instructions. Its just a cable and the TV out program icon in the Omnia. Anybody got suggestions on how to see the video files and slowdown the rate at which the sleep mode activates?

Also, how does the video look when it does actually work? is it clear or does it look like it is a streaming video.

Dont use file explorer. I know once I plug my device into my t.v it automatically appears after that I can do whatever I need to do. Go to power settings change the setting for TV out LCD power off for longer then 10 seconds. Depending on the video and the t.v the quality is actually pretty good.

I just got the cable from Flemmix. Thanks alot.

Works fine by just plugging it in. Picture quality is pretty bad tough. No fault of the cable. I was hoping to replace my laptop as a media player on trips etc.. but this doesn't fit the bill.

Thanks Flemmix for fast and reliable delivery.

No problems. I still got 3 cabels left if anyone is interrested.

Found this info:

- the phone will also play Xvid files

- resolution limitation is 720x480. Videos with this resolution or higher will not play on the phone or via TV-out. Bitrate limitation is 1.5 Mbps at 30 fps.

When I watched:

Dirty.Sexy.Money.S01E03.HDTV.XViD-Caph

Video Bitrate: ~1036 Kbps

Framerate: 23.976

Resolution: 624x352

On my 40" LCD it looked ok

Got the cable from flemmix - A vote of thanks to him for his efforts.

The cable provides a quite acceptable TV display for films etc. I intend to use it in conjunction with my Bluetooth Kboard and mouse for browsing and wordprocessing without the need to have my eye almost touching the screen. TVs are available anywhere and Laptops are heavy.

Hey this is a lot for a maiden post.

Regards to all.

I'm able to play the video's from this site, claiming to have them at 720x576. They work like a charm on my Omnia, although I did install TCMP 5500 Edition. :)

I now have 10 more new cabels. This time it's not samsung original but they work exactly the same and are under half the price.

Send me a PM if you are interrested.

Whenever I connect my original cable to the TV, the picture shown is horrible quality... like its been stretched a lot and pixelated... I've got a 50" HD Viera Plasma. Are they not compatible?

3,2" to 50" actually is stretched a lot.

you can't get a good quality from that tv-out.. it can be 'acceptable' on a 20" screen though.

Yeh that's right, the output resolution is still 240x400 (WQVGA) so the image is just streched so the quality can never be that great.

The quality is best on the Samsung Touch player but unfortunately it doesn't support all video codecs (no xvid/mkv which are the most movie formats now) so it doesn't play all movies you download.

When using TCPMP you can still change the videodriver to directdraw/intel XScale/Raw Framebuffer or GDI which can make some difference to the output quality on your tv so try to mess with these settings + smooth zoom option will makes it a bit better.

Inside the samsung tv-output program you can set the screenratio (4:3 or 16:9) + some other settings (video quality, brightness and contract) which can improve also. I've got 2 large (widescreen) flatscreens and on 1 the quality is better on 4:3 on the other 16:9 is better so just test with both settings.

Hm... but what about sound? How do you connect audio out to TV?

You'll have 2 (stereo) audio-out composite cables which you can connect straight into the tv or maybe via a scart socket if you don't have a composite connection.

hi,

do u have more of that cable? if not, can u send me link/address of any online store where to order them, and the specific model information of that cable. thanks, I am from (Asia) Bangladesh. I got a similar cable of white color from a local store. Initially it recognized the cable once, just browsing files by TV out viewer application, then it got disconnected and never recognized the cable again, later !!!! always shows 'tv out viewer requires a connected tv out cable'

your cable does not need to run that app 'tv out viewer' ??
