Awesome...

I First Hard reset the phone and then did the *228 programming.

Then proceeded with programming

I followed the PDF to the T...

I did NOT check the boxes mentioned..

As soon as the Flash completed I dialed *228 option 1 and then 2..

I can make calls and get online just fine..

I installed IGO8 and GPS works great.. Google maps also works..

Been lurking around here for the last week and had managed to real all the posts in this thread. I'm sooooo happy to see that this is resolved. I go to bed last night and things are going fine; I come how from work today and POOF! It's all working. The speed of things in the last few days makes it seem like you'll have a cure for cancer by next week. (Counting how long this thread has been around though, I'll have to give you a few more years on the cancer thing :excl: )

I installed the new ROM and the GPS works great! (with google maps, at least. I'll try some other things in a bit).

-I just followed the PDF exactly.

-I got the driver off my VZAccess CD (thanks Adrynalyn for the heads up on that)

-eventually remembered to turn Location ON!

-downloaded and started google maps (default settings)

thanks again

It works! It works! It works! It works! It works! It works! It works!

Go outside, freeze your butts off for 5 minutes, it works!!!!!

I had been trying without success inside, went out, tried google, nothing, tried live search nothing.. Switched back to google, and BAM it worked!!!

Got mine working! Just had to go outside and sit for about 10 minutes... finally got a lock! :-)

So, with that said, Garmin Mobile XT up and running without any problems! Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm having the same problem. Flash worked out fine, got the phone to make calls after talking with Verizon on the authentication issue, but broadband is not working. Keeps saying "username or password is wrong". On hold with Verizon now (again). If I find anything I'll let you know.

Don't check or uncheck anything unless the instructions say to. Leave everything at the default settings.

well in the beginning, everyone was doing it unchecked... then the guy did the two boxes checked and got it working, then people started reflashing lol

Yep, mine were checked as well. I finally got a hold of Verizon support. They did a little voodoo, had me power the phone off and on and now it's working fine. Looks like you may have to give them a call.

Did you make any changes the first time(ones not in the instructions)?

It won't hurt to flash again.

After one chilling bum flash attempt, I am up and running.

My phone and data has worked fine since, no problems. For the first couple times, Google maps would not lock onto a satellite, but after a few tries it works! Since the first lock, it seems to work no problem now.

Thanks to everyone who helped in the effort! :excl:
