CLEAN DXIA1 ROM *Updated Jan-19-2009* LuFeIg's LFI05b

Hi I am new here, I tried to flash using USDL_GrandPrix_v1.6.4_XP.exe but never been able to detect the phone. I did uncheck the allow USB connection & also kill activesync process but after connect the cable & on the phone, it just go directly to normal function phone.

What I did wrong? please help. I want to try out Omnia without junks.

If you're still having the same problem, I had hell with that the first time. Either press the reset button for about 10 seconds (while the phone is attached to the computer and the exe (either GrandPrix or the exe updater) is waiting for the phone connection) then release or remove the battery for about 30 seconds (still with phone connected) and replace.

just for clarification, i used to upload .rar files, then i started to upload compressed .cab's (they're like .rar or .zip ready to be installed) , but mediafire often rejects them affirming there's virus in the files (obviously false positives).

so when this happens, i upload them in .rar format.

i learnt a way to compress .exe and .dll files keeping their functionality... it's a free tool named UPX... you guys can do it yourselves, otherwise i'll update some links (i.e. opera) providing optimized versions, so you can save even more storage space (not sure if this is necessary, tho... there's lots of space available in device memory).

i really don't understand what happens, since it works perfectly with me.

you can try stock DXHL2 released by secany and check if the problem continues.

My problem is solved so if anyone have the same here's what I forgot to do:

go to your connections and open operator settings then change to any other operator and then change back to your operator. System will overwrite all settings with operator settings. It worked for me.

UPX will slow down a bit the machine and increase a bit the program memory consumption. This is usually small.

ok, so updated XIP & SYS will be available only on DXHL3 or DXIA1... :rolleyes: :)

i'm not working with IE6, so i have no idea... sorry!

and it's impossible to make a cab for xip and sys... these work in low level, they must be cooked in rom.

Lufieg, so you're not releasing a new version of your great ROM until HL3 or IA1 (with the updated XIP & SYS)?

- online widgets were designed to work with opera. if it's possible to make them work with ie, i don't know how to do it... and imho i don't see why someone would do it, but who knows?

- in original stock rom, it comes with opera 15233 and flash lite 2.1, so the answer is yes, they work together. but unfortunately i don't know why opera doesn't work with you, sorry...

- office mobile cab is available not only in this thread, you don't have to read every single page to find it, that's why we recommend the use of the search button. i did not provide the link in the first post because microsoft sells this app, but it comes bundled with stock rom. so i'm thinking if i will delete the file because i have doubts if it would be illegal or not to distribute it.

sorry if you're finding too many issues with this rom, it shouldn't be like that... but unfortunately i really can't answer all the questions made here, or sort all the issues that one may find... i learnt to cook a rom 3 weeks ago, so i can't help everyone who has problems with it, but if a search is done, probably 90% of the questions should have been already answered.

i wish you can sort your issues and have fun with this rom in a happy 2009!

GREAT !! Take your time, I didn't mean to rush you... I was just wondering whether there will be a "c" version or not.

You mentioned it earlier, but after that you said that it will only be avaiable with HL3 or IA1, that's why I was a bit confused. Thanks for the clarification.

Your rom work very good now:

-i resolved the connection problem.

-I installed the opera version : 9.5.2802 cause the 9.5 b15233 dont want to open (dont know why) for be sure i dont miss something for it i re-flahsed with your rom and re-installed your opera .cab but the result is the same,anyway with the 9.5.2802 works good.

-for office mobile i understand now :rolleyes:

just to let you guys know, revision c launch is postponed.

i cooked a working rom build 20954.1.5.0 and trying to refine it, i cooked another one without success, but accidentaly i deleted the first one (which was working) and i can't cook another rom successfully.

Many thanks for your ROM. Works great and is fast.

One problem I encounter is that I could not do a XTRA data download for GPS via WIFI. Whenever I click on the "XTRA Data Download", an error "XTRA data download Fail" prompt me. What can I do to clear off this error?

By the way, I live in Singapore.

Additional info: I couldn't go to any web page in my opera browser. I think is my connection settings now. There is only an option "My Streaming Networks" in the Opera connection tab. Not sure what is it?

I am a noob in networking. Anybody kind here can teach me how to set up the usual "The Internet" connection for WIFI in the official ROM.

Hi lufeig master,

I have flashed to your rom, damn wonderful!!!!

But i got one issue, after i install the online wiget, i updated the weather.

From the today, i click on the weather and it went into the detail page.

I don't see the big weather image. The rest are ok, all the small day by day detail is there, only the big weather image is gone.

i dont know which step i missed out. Pls help master.

Which version of the Opera are you using?

I install the latest oper version provided in the first thread, and the online widget both in device memory.

I was able to updated the weather see the sun in the today weather widget, but when i double click on it to see the detail

the big image of the sun is not present.

Btw, did u install the online widget in the device memory? i did .
