Guest shokka9 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 anyone try this rom? i have PVR06 rom and its great. any solution for manila on this rom??? bicouse i realy like it. Lufeig; running your ROM as we speak. Not sure how much you know about cooking ROMs, but you could of shaved quite a bit more out of this ROM. I am not complaining, just advising. No need for Main menu etc and stuff like that can be available as cab. I am running M2D now within your ROM, HK3 feels quicker than HK1, maybe me?? There is your answer Dr Eran Markovitz, install it! I like your ROM tho, may use this until next PaSSoA M2D release. Thanks Lufeig!
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) @ standpro: i didn't get the point: why did you include that .pdf document? @ lattenator: sorry friend, but i use win xp too, so i don't know how you could proceed to flash your omnia. maybe somebody using vista can help you, or maybe you can find a solution on the net... sorry but i can't help you on this subject... @ shokka: i apprreciate your advice, but i think many people use "main menu", don't they? only those using an additional graphic interface (manilla, spb mobile shell, etc) don't. but i'll take your suggestion in consideration in my next release, thanks!!! all constructive comments, feedbacks, support, tips and complainings are welcome!!! so by now, next release will have: - disabled secdialer.dll (samsung dialer): we get approx. + 5 to 10mb "RAM" memory. touchscreen also does not get locked during a call. it will be disabled, not deleted, so those who want to use it just have to enable it. - samsung widget removed. - maybe main menu removed. who wants it removed? who wants it kept? Edited December 14, 2008 by lufeig
Guest helladios Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 I have tried many of the ROM's offered here. You are on the right track. It is unfortunate that you chose to begin with the "latest" DXHK3 which, unfortunately, seems to have some bugs (relating to wi-fi and bluetooth). I have read that the next ROM, which is already out, "i900DXHL2 (not HL1) coming soon. LOTs more widget, widgets settings, PocketFS, etc..." (quote from Secany, on his ROM-thread), is well sorted. I would like to see that stripped, without menus, widgets, etc. It has been repeatedly pointed out (requested) to (from) the various "cooks", that a stripped ROM is desirable, accompanied by the different applications in "cab" file form, so that people can install what they want, where they want! We do understand that it is very time-consuming to strip a ROM completely... but, then, why bother? Now the net is full if "half-stripped" ROMs. So, please... DXHL2... stripped to the bone!
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 uploading a new rom... please check first post!!!
Guest Rdy2Go Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) Good to see another version - what about Samsung Dialer - you wrote it is disabled but not removed? How to re-enable it? I just found the answer - one of the options is to use Schaps Advanced Config and re-enable "skin" for the dialer (Phone section) BTW, it really frees lots of memory - winmo default dialer takes much less memory than Samsung. Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 download link for new version LFI02 updated, check first post! if everything runs fine, this is probably the last DXHK3 update. next one: DXHL2!!!
Guest shokka9 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) @ shokka: i apprreciate your advice, but i think many people use "main menu", don't they? only those using an additional graphic interface (manilla, spb mobile shell, etc) don't. but i'll take your suggestion in consideration in my next release, thanks!!! all constructive comments, feedbacks, support, tips and complainings are welcome!!! so by now, next release will have: - maybe main menu removed. who wants it removed? who wants it kept? True Lufeig. But i think people like me have no need for menu, if so they have cab of their choice, i know i do. But people looking for nice clean empty ROM, Dr Dots was so stable and quick, one of my faves. It left you with 125mb after flash. But so does the xxxholics range. But this is the aim, i believe, if you are not customising the GUI, then you can either make ROM for yourself, with your apps in it, or make a stripped ROM for everyone to install what they want? but we would all need cabs for every thing removed. everything. can you remove the security when installing cabs?? I know you new and still learning, so dont take me wrong, i just pushing you in the right direction (i hope). To optimize Omnia it requires a lot of tweaks, registry entries, etc etc. That is also an area alone for me, as well as stripping and rebuilding ROM, it's two parts. I want to do it, but it would eat all my time up. But i am itching. It upto you, so you can make ROMs for you, or for the people. You could do both, its your life, and we are here to play with whatever you make. So enjoy whatever you do. ROM is nice tho, i have installed everything, tweaked away and got 35mb left. Yes i am running M2D too. Not got latest version, downloading now tho.... Thanks Lufeig, the more chefs the better, if you can do these ROMs, you can do anything you want with them. Steep learning curve. Edited December 14, 2008 by shokka9
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 True Lufeig. But i think people like me have no need for menu, if so they have cab of their choice, i know i do. main menu is removed in LFI02 thanks for your advice!!! can you remove the security when installing cabs?? i thought about doing it in LFI02, but i also read that if you run a malicious program that wants to install something without your knowledge, and if security warning is disabled, you're screwed. so i kept it enabled. anyway, if you guys think it would be better to have it disabled by default, i may do it in my next release! please let me know if you need directions on how to disable it manually. i also thought of putting here the needed cabs, but i would need to ask authorizations from the authors. and there are too many cabs, too many authors... :) thanks for your feedback. i hope too to learn some more tricks to provide better roms for this community which helps me a lot when i need!
Guest shokka9 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 no worries. I have cab to remove security with cabs. Just that i am used to most other ROMs not having the restriction. i understand what you are saying. i have cabs for everything, need to learn this ROM cooking, so i can achieve something good. Just downloaded the new version, will do it tomorrow, it a lenghty process with M2D, thats why i liked PaSSoA's ROM. But i like flashing ROMs and using peoples. Especially like yurself, new chefs, all good! cabs not too much of issue, they can be obtained. keep up the good work. very much appreciated by me. All of the chefs!!
Guest s_wind Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 were is the video call in this rom ??????????????
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) i never used it, it's VERY expensive in brazil... so i don't have any friends that are allowed to make/receive videocalls. anyway, now i noticed that this feature is disabled, but because i have never used it, i don't know if it is enabled in stock rom... could you please confirm if this is an issue in my rom? so i can update first post... thanks!!! ___________________ EDIT: VIDEOCALL function is enabled in SAMSUNG PHONEBOOK, but disabled in CONTACTS... i never used it tho, so i don't know if this is default, or a bug in my rom... could you please tell me? sorry for any inconvenience... Guest 3sade Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 i know about the cab my friend, i used to use it on other ROMs like yours (DrDots, xxxholic, PaSSoA LTE). thanks for response, when you have learnt how to get deeper into cooking process, i would defo be looking at one of your ROMs (again, downloaded this, but not flashed yet, tried DXHK3/PV06 earlier). I will be learning soon, maybe i can do it?? Thanks for quick and honest reply. Hi guys  Can you please tell me where I can find the CAB file to install Manilla 2D (M2D) on my Omnia? I've been looking really, but can't find it. Help would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) did you really search for it? :) :( it's on the first page of the omnia section... http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-h...flo-2d-on-i900/ good luck! Edited December 14, 2008 by lufeig
Guest s_wind Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 is not work video call my friend...
Guest lufeig Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) @s_wind: sorry my friend, i just tested the function and it only works if you have SAMSUNG DIALER enabled. you have to enable it modifying a registry value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin] "Enabled"=dword:0 Change to 1 and soft-reset. Now videocall should be fully functional. ____________________________________________________ EDIT: PHM Registry Editor Edited December 15, 2008 by lufeig
