is there any solution for the starting Ringtone in Omnia? (the increasing ring)

Classic Bell. Me too.

It's the only ringtone loud enough to be sure I hear it under all circumstances. For example, I have a convertible, and any fancy ringtone, like some tune, is completely lost in the noise.

Classic Bell is the loudest, most distinct but psychologically recognizable "it's a phone!" ringtone on the device.

The only problem I had with it at first was that it sounds so perfect as an old classic telephone that my mind assumed it was a phone ringing in one of the mall stores as I was walking around with my new Omnia. Got over that pretty quickly :-)

You should try cranking the volume using the steps in the sticky thread on this forum. Also, remember that any MP3 can be your ringtone, so try freesound.org or something to find a good loud and recognisable tone.

My problem is the alarm sounds for such a short time that i sometimes don't hear the damn alarm. Is there anyway to have the alarm sound till i do something to stop it physically. Sorry if this has been asked or solved before but i have lost count how many pages on so many forums i have read trying to find an answer so hope someone can help me on this. I have DXIA5 clean rom installed if that is any help :).

the reason for samsung to put this increasing ring is that our omnia use the same speaker for phone call and ring(loudspeaker). so when u accidentally put the phone at ur ear and it rings it wont kill ur ear.
