Guest js3339 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 I'm starting to envy my iPhone owning friends! :gasp: Mostly because it does (almost) everything this phone does but it all WORKS SMOOTHLY.. assuming you jailbreak it anyway If iPhone's features are enough for you, you definately should be using it. The advantage of WM is the extremely wide range of applications available and nothing controls what you can install. But it may turn to disadvantage when some app doesn't work as it should or someone wants to make harm. IPhone and Symbian allow (without any hacks) you to install only trusted and working apps but it also limits the number of available apps considerably. I tried WMFifirouter too and had to make a hard reset to get my WiFi back but I had made a backup with spb so it only took about ten minutes to get phone back up and running.
Guest SuzukiDan Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) I totally agree and don't want to turn this into a iphone vs wm thread at all, just getting frustrated that in the time I've spent on this damn phone trying to get ONE APP to work, my friends with an iphone could have had dozens of apps downloaded and working by now.. sharing internet AND talking on the phone at the same time (omnia cant do that), browsing websites and having FULL functionality (omnia cant do that).. at first we argued about which was better but after all this frustration I'm starting to agree with them. NOTHING is easy with this thing, and as I said I'm a PC savvy person (have spent hundreds of hours resolving windows issues, was my job for a long time). Edit: you know what else? The battery life on this phone is garbage. I'm downloading the .net framework right now which is like 35 mb, and i swear the damn battery power meeter is going down as fast as the download bar is going up! Every day I spend about 2 hours playing with my phone total and by the time I get home its dead, not to mention it complains about a low battery roughly five thousand times and disables bluetooth so I cant use my headset on the drive home.. Guest DxTania Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Crash cleanup + soft reset worked thanks everyone!
Guest brnlahaze Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 HAve you installed the WMWifirouter? If you have run the crash recover and it will restore the wifi option. I have had this happen to me and that was the fix that worked. Just wanted to say thanks! That did the trick for me.
Guest Revhead Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Futher to this. Is there a limit on the number of wifi connections you can have stored. A couple of times now I have been unable to connect to my home network, only to find the network connection has disappeared. This only happens after I have added a few connections that I have accumulated in my travels?
Guest Maddawg6 Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 I had given up on trying to get WMWifiRouter to work for "tethering" quite some time ago and was just using the USB cable. I finally came back to this forum and found out that all I needed to do was use the WMWifiRouter cleanup and soft reset like those before me. Works like a champ now! Thanks all!
