Guest Ingvarr Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 No point of this thread really, but maybe what he's implying is that the forums aren't even as active as the device-specific forums @ xda. Possibly because most of Omnia owners pretty much satisfied with current tweaks & setups already? I myself did extensive digging & tweaking just when I got it, but now I rarely change anything - as I have a complete everyday application suite that works almost perfectly, so it not really worth the trouble anymore

I feel sorry for the guy who traded his omnia in for a Storm that thing is a hunk of junk.
Guest liamwolf Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Look at their post counts... I do get very tired answering the same questions over and over and over.... When we first joined up, we were hardly like that. We searched, studied everything written, played around with the Roms, etc. Definitely not like now... I am extremely doubtful that you were not once a novice that asked questions. We all were. If you want to stop the questions you should make a FAQ topic and get someone to sticky if for you. I'm not bored with the phone. I haven't even got it yet; I'm still researching to make sure I want it instead of the pixon, and so far it seems like I do.
Guest samjuan Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I'm glad I ignited all this passion for the Omnia in you guys :( ! I feel I want my new Omnia back from the service center now more than ever. You see, forums are about sharing experiences and thoughts, giving as well as taking... and lending a helping hand wether technically or not-technically... Sadly, I don't see this here anymore except for a very few who got bored being alone as well. Any phone has issues, that is why you have a service center, and that is why you have warranty, but when your "fatal" issues are not resolved by that! then you have to ask "the experts" from the forums. I couldn't sell the phone for a reasonable price here sadly! people here know now and this is where I got my frustration. Anyway, although I feel no need to apologize, I am if I offended anyone of you in anyway. Farewell. :)
Guest R@v3n Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I'm sure that many "bored" users of the Omnia will become interested once Android is ported over. I know I will be...and I'm not even bored yet!
Guest daskalos Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 (edited) Oh yup this is Samjuan second thread about his agony over omnia What happen to his first thread? Well those guys who are satisfied with the Omnia (included myself) must be thankful that we are fortunate enough that our phone didn't end up in a Service Center like Samjuan's and co's unfortunate Omnia, after just a few days from taking it out of the box... That we are fortunate enough that we haven't bricked our Omnia upon upgrading... Fortunate enough that we have better Omnia distributors and carriers.... Fortunate enough to have found fixes and tweaks that solves our little issues Fortunate enough that we have not dropped, soaked, froze and cooked our Omnia...yet Fortunate enough that we used our sniffing abilities to find great applications, our brains to develop new ROMS, our eyes and fingers to search for solutions in the net...and not trying to give up hope...than just making double posts of issues that has been discussed...like posts such as "Camera problem" ,"I have a camera problem","i900 Camera issues" etc. Try searching dudes... Fortunate enough to have this forum...for optimists as well for pessimists.... Anyway if those of you are getting bored of the Omnia ...whine once... if you couldn't stop whining, dispose it or try another phone On other hand you may want to install great applications to lighten the spark of desire towards your phone Here is my Pocket Pc App collection of great games and apps! And because there is a fix to run vga and qvga resolution on WQGA Omnia...almost 90% of these apps will work on our Omnia Bored? View my Eye Watering COLLECTION List (Although still Incomplete)...... Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Are you really using all those apps and games? That is certainly an imprssive ammount installed, I don't think I have ever had that much on one device before.
Guest daskalos Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 1/4 of the list I installed on my Omnia ;-) Tried half of them back then and uninstalled them Just installed apps which I need... And Installing some apps (like those Encyclopedia, Medical References and RPG Games) are memory consuming At least I tested them and 90% of my collection works in Omnia (some with the help of fixes). There's no need to get bored....

Devin
Guest daskalos Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 @Delvin What version of Legacy... Im still confuse about the legacy pack But I can confirm that Legacy 2: The Quest works in Omnia with Wvgafix3
Guest bobobird Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 well said dsskalos and ****that**** is some impressive list of tested apps.

I will give The Quest a try! Devin
Guest dddrko Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 @daskalos, does Astraware Dynomite works in full screen on Omnia? This is my favorite game, and Omnia should be my new phone
Guest bpivk Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 well said dsskalos and ****that**** is some impressive list of tested apps. +1Â I'd rather chop my hand off then install all of these apps. How long did it took you? I have some apps (50) and i don't even have the time to install them.
Guest daskalos Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 @dddrko Good news about your fave astraware dynomite It works on Omnia Although not full screen but Fortunately IT'S SITUATED AT THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN There are small green spaces at the bottom and top of the screen...Making use of Omnia's wqvga center Stylus is working for pointing and when released from the screen, it shoots the dyno egg

The Quest is amazing! What an awesome game! It is about as close to Oblivion (the RPG game) that you can get on a cell phone. Immensely immersive and immense in scope. Devin
Guest DeepBlueEditor Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Well for me the whole "bored of your phone" expression is strange. As I said, you can not be "bored" of a tool. You can be bored of a toy. Maybe this is the real origin of such posts. Just my 2 cents but, if you want a good phone, buy only a phone. Skip the other features and get a good PDA. As for me, I got tired of carying my Dell Axim X30 and a Motorola e815. Great phone by the way - not as good as my old Ericsson T28, but good. I hear a lot of folks complaining about certain features that don't work, stuff not exactly right, etc. I know the company has a real responsibility to support all the features they sell in a device but holy cow folks, you want a phone that works, buy a phone only. I am still shaking my head at all the stuff crammed into this thing that do work. OCR for heaven sake. Seemless panaramic photos? 5M Pixel camera. This thing is a marvel of engineering. Try to keep some perspective but yes, in the end I will agree that if a company sells a product that "slices and dices", it damn well ought to do both. Just try to breathe a bit is all. I hate to bring this up but, if they don't "fix" these issues pretty quick, we will all be upsold to the next whizbang device anyway as support for this one will likely die off in about 6 months. I'm not holding my breath for the promised GPS fix either. Still, it was an interesting first dip into the smartphone thing for me without the locked down (mostly) Apple tax. YMMV, just my opinions. S.
Guest dwallersv Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 What a whiner. I'm sorry you've had troubles with your Omnia. Mine's been flawless, from a defect standpoint. Maybe they improved many issues with the 910, I don't know. From the standpoint of functionality, it has the "raw" capabilities, but like every single damn phone doesn't meet my needs nearly as well as I'd like. That's why I go for WM phones -- with some study, effort, and customization, I can make it almost exactly what I want. At this point, my Omnia is nearly unrecognizable as an Omnia to any non-techie owner of one. M2D, mars WeatherPanel, custom SIPs, CorePlayer, and on and on and on and on. I absolutely love this phone for what it can do and what I can do with it. Don't like it, get rid of it. Go get an iPhone, and be stuck with what Apple wants you to have.
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 OMG... Bored with Omnia?! You either don`t know the meaning of the word "bored" or you thing that searching for programs and tweaks is something very bad and God forbid doing so... What exactly are you bored with? If it`s the UI try something like WAD or SPB or ifonZ or Manila... I really don`t know a phone that fulfills my needs like the Omnia - its audio and video playback are great, the touch response is great (my device at least), the internal memory is big "enough", the camera shoots fine and don`t forget the price... That`s what I have in mind and if you don`t like the phone go buy an iphone and pay some million dollars to be able to capture video. P.S. I`ve had the phone since december and it hasn`t been repaired so far and hope it won`t be :( Have a nice day!
Guest that1ryanguy Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 I've had this phone since January and I have tweaked, edited, and manipulated it in every way I could and I am still not bored with it. If I run into a problem, I search on this forum (which is amazing, by the way) and I find the answers I'm looking for. And most of the time, I just end up reading all the posts and stumble upon something useful along the way. This forum has definitely been helpful for me, and my Omnia still has not bored me yet!
Guest ketamdaco Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 No, I'm not getting bored with the Omnia since we still have very smart Chef :( like SHOKKA9, Sector, Tarril, Qbus, Possa (where are you?). they bring the Omnia still alive not Samsung, but samsung have to thank and prise them!!!! So please keep holding on our smart Chefs, bravo.....
Guest travelbug Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 omnia - phone for real techies iphone - phone for people appearing to be techies if you cant figure how to use an omnia get an iphone. bye
Guest Massive Attack Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 well, im "bored" with my omnia, but not the way you are bored with yours. im bored because after many months of excitement and playing around with its nice features, it came to a point that i just use it for its main purpose: texting and calling plus music playing. but thats how i am with my every device.
Guest anubi1126 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 heck no i am always trying something new out or adding games themes skins apps etc oh and make calls text play music have had it about 4 month
