Need Chef help to reconstruct a dumped i900L rom

It seems that we still do not have phone.bin from the I900L. Does anyone know how to extract this?

It should be 16 Meg uncompressed.

The i900tool kitchen will convert raw to bin. But raw and bin seem to be arbitrary extensions. I.e. the .bin of the kitchen are files that start with B000F

GrandPrix is not dangerous on its own. In fact, if you only flash parts of the Room (which you can do with GrandPrix) it is probably safter than flashing everything. If some parts have bogus data the device can still boot long enough to be flashed.

However, sticking the wrong file into your Phone partition seems to brick the phone. You can easily do this with I900Executor by specifying the wrong type of files as the phone.bin part.

- Does you 3G work as it did?

- Does devicetest.exe and/or Admin look like it did previously?

- Are the menu's the same? I.e. with the extra WCDMA settings?

I got mine for 1890,00 brazilian reais, about US 830.00. and I have a contract plan with the claro network.

In Brazil, electronics are so much more expensive than us or europe...

Everytime I go to US, I come back with an extra laptop to sell :rolleyes:

pidsw, he have the 4 raw files and a part02.raw file extracted in the dump folder :rolleyes: I tried to reconstruct it using an Os.nb file extracted from a secany i900 rom, using the htc tutorial, but I get stuck when it asks for a nbh file for the shell... (they say that to get this nbh file, the exe file must be extracted with winrar, what doesnt work with our exe files, I think this nbh file is a htc thing)

well, anyway, I have a friend who works for siemens mobile, and she has ex co-workes who works now for samsung Brazil. She will ask them if its possible to get the i900L rom for us. I also wrote samsung brazil at their webiste and asked for this rom, I dont have an answer yet.

I looked for all samsung latin america websites, and still no update for it.

All info I could find so far suggests that it is impossible to dump radio ROM, which is what we need. I have also been unsuccessful in accessing i900 with QPST to examine radio parameters. I still believe it is possible though, just has not found a way yet.

I think sooner or later there will be an official update for i900L ROM containing phone part, so it's not over yet :)

i extract the Pda.bin and customer.csc whit Executor... after this i flashed whit Grandprix, and all OK ( blue label appear)..but after my i900L is freeze at the Samsung screen... :)

I´m using a PDAviet rom to extract the Pda.bin and customer.... again i try whit the Passoa rom.. and work !!!!!!!!!!!!

But the question now is.. why whit this work.. but whit other not ? ( need i to change something in the secret menu ?? )

Would any of the custom ROM cookers know how to grab that part of the ROM? Would it be worth asking one of them? I really believe it's possible as well, we know the hardware has the capability based on it's specifications.

I don't think they'll release an update for the i900L, the Brazilian Samsung are not much concerned about it.. It'll be easier to get it from inside Samsung (maybe Secany could get it)... Let's ask him? B)

What can i do ???

you needed the phone.bin part for the i900L. when you unlocked it, you might had lost it.

well, there's here on modaco a simple and secure way to unlock the i900/i900L, just inserting codes

That´s right, i flashed my phone and re-Unlock whit your tutorial, and all is fine now, i have now 3g in my i900L !!!!!

I dont know if you can help me but i flash my i900L to a i900 and yes i lost my 3G can is there a way to go back to i900L? if yes can someone give me the link to the ROM that is in english? my original was in english.
