Guest elhamy201 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 i have this problem too it is visible only on white backgrounds
Guest MrJoneswii Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 lol, I made a post about not seeing the spot a few posts back. However, I found a bright spot, super small in the exact same place. And now It's starting to get annoying because I keep seeing it everywhere. I'm sure that it's psychological, but it seems getting bigger. Other people don't see it on my phone tho
Guest Bulldogs Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 There seems to be two different problems here. The first being a bright white patch (very slight and hardly noticeable) This patch only shows well on white background. The 2nd problem being a dead pixel (not actually dead but let's not get technical). The dead pixel is a single white (or black, or red or green or blue) pixel that is a sign of a damaged pixel on your phone. In that case get Samsung to replace the screen. As for the first issue. I think it's an LED status light (a light signifying that something is on), maybe wifi, maybe something else. Try running different things on your phone and see if the light is always on. Just a guess.
Guest h8isgr8 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 A permanent bright spot (not dead pixels) can also happen if an area of the screen is pressed too hard. This happened to mine after playing around trying to get a piece of dust to move that is trapped behind the touch screen. I got frustrated and pressed really hard with the stylus creating the light spot.
Guest vitopastorini Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 any response or solution to this problem?? i have the same bright spot, "dionhere" said that he called to samsung and they told him something about the internal gps, can you tell me what did you do about it?? what about the guaranty? thanks, regards from Chile
Guest barbs666 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 Take it back for a repair (new screen) if it is under waranty. Mine had the same problem too but in a different location And dont forget to back up all your data because they will flash/hard reset your phone!
Guest macoolit Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 mine has a white spot also that is visible on the lower left side. Is this because of pressing hard on the lcd? no other solution other than replacement?
Guest Nhialor Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Don't get me wrong, it is not a pixel problem, the spots diameter is approx: 5mm and it is always a little bit brighter than the rest of the screen - no matter which color is being shown. Due to the fact that my and the device from two colleagues (different shipping charge, different vendor) has this spot, it must have something to do with the technical design (maybe a chip behind this location produces more heat and influences the display? Goto System Settings -> System -> Brightness -> Manual full power -> the bright spot should appear on the lower part of the display cheers :) it is caused by pressing the screen too hard and damaginginng the screen, I have one too.
Guest ahcor1991 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Hi, I have discovered a small bright spot on Omnia's touchscreen and it seems to be "by design" (have seen this on three different devices). What I'm wondering is: Why??? You can see this spot on your Omnia easily: Just choose a white background, the spot should appear on the lower left part of the touchscreen (~1,8cm from left, ~5,3cm from above) thanks :) me too... :)
Guest Omni God Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 I have the same problem.. but mine is on upper right side of the unit (at portrait possition..) Reading this post makes me somewhat happy! Because, when i first saw it, watching a movie, i was really really seriously dissabpointed! i wanted to take my unit back to the seller, but warranty is over... so, its really a universal problem huh! very disgusting!
Guest Mrhoffmann Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Send the phone to your provider or Samsung. I did this and now i have got the new screen :)
Guest Jumba Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 so, its really a universal problem huh! very disgusting! Dude, this can happen to any LCD screen, not just Omnias. Don't blame Samsung.
Guest badtrip Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) I had one, but my rovider fixed it so no problem at all! Samsung has no fault about that. Its just luck that a spot appears or it doesnt. Edited September 8, 2009 by badtrip
Guest ivanxxx Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 My screen used to had a white and purple spot on it :) I went to the store where I bought, they simply asked me "did you make any hard pressure on it?", "did you spill water on it?" I ofcourse answered no :) I told, I'm using it with this carrying case.. :) Then they took note about problems and I added touch screen not sensetive.. blah blah.. Then, 2 weeks later I got it with a new screen and got rid of those problems. New screen is impressinly good than before, especially about touch response.. I think purple spot is may be result of humudity or water.. Maybe they can change it for only white spot problem and for your made ups.. :) You would never know before try.. I live in Turkey and service support is good in here, but did not need to call sammy provider..
Guest Gandulph Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Don't get me wrong, it is not a pixel problem, the spots diameter is approx: 5mm and it is always a little bit brighter than the rest of the screen - no matter which color is being shown. And I have the latin american version of the Omnia (i900L).
Guest macoolit Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 So this white spot that we have, will it worsen? my warranty has expired already and im not sure if I will just ignore it.
