Hi Ojaxtr

Can you send details on what tools you used to upgrade your Indian Omnia tp new ROMs. As stated by you that you will upload the steps and other stuff once you reach home.

Follow the below url 4 now. If u have any problem let me know. I've been using custom ROM for 4 months now with no issues. Am gonna flash my ROM again if time permits (bz with Windows 7 installation) with Khuanchai's new update DXID1 build 21806. :D

If you have bought your Omnia in India and currently have ROM with DD initials then they will not ask you anything except the invoice copy first time and will update the ROM within 5-10 minutes.

I've original rom version DDIC1 which is similar to DXIA5 but the file size is approx. 180 Mb hence I can not upload as of now. If you want then I'll upload it on rapidshare next month.

yaaa they didn't ask me anything because i shifted from DDHH4 to their official ROM . Hey that will be great if u can upload the original ROM DDIC1 ie when ever u want ( i think its the phone version ) , and i need to show my phone to samsung people also because my touch screen got some problem ya, so i think i ll wait for ur post then i ll show it to them. Anyways Thanks a lot.

I got this ROM about 6 months back and I think they must be having another update since then.

By the way what problem you are facing with your touch screen.

actually i m asking because right now my phone version is DXID1 which is not for an India. areee the problem is calibration ...i have tried all kind of registries and calibration data, but the touch is never proper..i have checked that my pixels are not dead..i think there is a problem in the screen panel .

see this is the touch when i draw vertical lines. both right hand side and left hand side gotta problem.

What say?

why use official rom when cooked rom's are better.???

becoz cooked rom's is like girl friend - more fun, new features, much faster ya but no warranty, no stability and offical rom is like wife - complete vice-versa.... i think u got it :)

Hey Ramnath,

Chill dude, be bold. I upgraded my Indian ROM from DDHH3 to DXIA5 using Windows Vista, I spent weeks reading and trying to figure out how to do the upgrade on WIndows Vista as I didn't have access to Windows XP. Eventually it was pretty easy. I was willing to take the risk. Just make sure you backup all your data before you start off. You can use your external Storage card to backup your data as flashing won't touch the External Storage. I also upgraded the OS from Windows 6.1 to 6.5 with Custom ROM with M2D from MODACO users (QBUS, Sector and Khauchai). It's very simple. My cellphone is amazing now

If you need assistance, I am willing to help you all the way.

Take Care

[i need help i ended up screwing up the pcb the last time i tried to update to 6.5 the omnia needed 2 b jtagd but i was able to do it witha a hole in my pocket now my rom is DDHJ2 but i guess DDHH4 was the best rom and i still have 6.1 so dissapointing ]

Hello,

Sorry for getting back after a year. Eventually, I was able to fix the issue, I dont remember how, and I decided not to flash my ROM. One question that I have is, if the internal GPS locked by default. I saw few posts saying that i900 internal gps is locked, bought from verizon. I am not sure, if this lock is done through the mobile carriers (in my case Orange), or Phone manufactures (Samsung).

thanks,
