I figured I'd weigh in on this discussion regarding "multi-touch" on the Omnia. As one guy pointed out that in the solitaire program if you drag a card and press on a separate area on the screen it will detect the pressure. When I tried it out to see what he meant it worked and DID NOT create a point in between my two fingers but it would SHOOT the card underneath my other finger and go back and forth as I picked my 2nd finger off and on.

It did not detect my two touches as "one big finger and create a point in the center". It correctly detected that my second finger was placed on the screen and moved the card underneath that finger. I'm not saying that it's multi-touch or that I know for sure if it's possible on a resistive screen or not but I just wanted to point that out that it isn't creating a middle point.

One thing I thought of as an explanation is that there may possibly be some code written to "null" the original touch if a second touch is placed on the screen. It may be a security measure for the software to not mess up. So if one finger is placed on it and another in a different spot it voids the first touch and somehow detects the second as the touch that is entered into the program. I don't see how it would be that smart though... :D

I kind of got annoyed by SURGEN or whoever's comment stating that "Why must we argue on something that is scientifically and physically impossible!". That statement is very ignorant. Technology is discovered by challenging the impossible and not simply accepting what is already possible as the limit. Everything that has been invented in history was something that was either laughed at or deemed impossible until someone challenged that statement. We currently have 3D televisions, entire computers the size of a cell phone, and satellites floating in space so I HIGHLY doubt that having multi-touch on a resistive touch screen is something so beyond a physical possibility that you could claim it as impossible. It's not that complex of a technology when broken down my friend. Someone can figure it out and probably will.

u need also drivers to support the multitouch and device support ofc.

anw what i can remember if u press with ur 2 fingers on device it calculates the middle of the 2 points.

for example pointX = (0,0) and pointY(10,20) coordinates on screen the half will be pXY( (0+10)/2=5, (0+20)/2=10 )

nothing is impossible.

Correct - wushdishmeen; doownload and try Omniano. Press 2 keys on each end of the screen, and you'll see that one in the middle will be played, as will it's note.
