J1A1H;

Connect to AOL, then open a normal IE window, it will be on your taskbar desktop or start menu.

Then simply follow the instructions as per the above post...

We all know AOL is a heap of shite...

I too seem to have this bug, sounds identical to your descriptions. How then hell are we able to add more games like this if the phones memory cant handle it. All my games are saved to the Memory card all my folders are empty my cookies and history's are deleted what else can I do to free up memory? My current memory status is:

Available storage is 5.27mb

Total storage is 7.50mb

Available memory is 5.55mb

Total memory 11.82

does this look normal?

Its a great game let down simply by the BUG and also the controls are a little awkward but thats not down to the game designers.

I didn't think there was a demo for this game (smartphone version). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Have you downloaded the PC version or the Pocket PC version?

Ross_Curtis, yes that sounds about normal. Most of the time there will only be around 5Mb to 6Mb of space on the phone unless you start to put loads of sounds on which can't be stored on the storage card

I downloaded the pc version i am goin to download it again it looks gd. But has any one already had this problem wth the pc demo version?

It was the PC demo version that convinced me to buy the SPV version.

I had no problem installing the demo either.

Looks like you have all the fun ;)

I e-mailed Douglas, I've followed his suggestions, I've freed up ALL the memory I can, still no luck.

I'll try it all once more, if not, then I'm going to ask for a refund - I'm not paying for a game I have to restart every time I want a new level.

Are you sure your PC is running ok?

I'm serious you should not have had a critical error

over that piece of software.

its running perfectly i rebooted it recently so everything is fine i am goin to try and download it again. Ashley do u think moto racer is worth the money because it is quite an expensive game don't u think?

I like it, but it does take a while to get used to the controls

and the game can be hard.

Has anyone managed to make it past this level (Evergreen Hills)?

Sofar the most I have managed to get is 1&3/4 laps, and I've been trying on and of for a couple of days now.

The fact that you can't leave the boundary at all without losing the level means that you have to be very precise in lining up the jumps, which is not easy with the SPV's gamepad I can tell you!

I haven't got past Level 1 yet :)

Finding the steering a bit hard,

But I guess, I haven't been trying long enough

Level 1 is easy once you realise that the best way to do it is to hold back a second at the start (so you dont crash into the other bikes) and then take the short cut going up, turning left at the last second as you get to the jump. Using this tactic you can easily outpace the other bikes, although of course its still easy to lose if you stray too far from the boundaries.

NB I have the accelorator mapped to vol+ (brake is vol- but I never use it)

Are you sure your phone is unlocked properly?

Motorcross is signed, doesn't need de-cert phone.

What I ment was has the de-certification process messed up the phone

if it was not done properly?

so if thats the case what about re doing the process again?

The way you install the smartphone version is to run the file on your computer I think, and then it will automatically copy the cab file to your phone, and give you an option of where to install it. It took quite a long time to install on my phone, but worked fine.

To address the problem regarding the game dropping to the home screen for some users:

Here are a few possible causes for this issue: As your phone is used and programs are run, the free memory space can get fragmented. This isn't such a big deal until you run a program like MSR which uses nearly all the available execution RAM while executing. If the memory is fragmented, MSR will be unable to reserve large areas of contiguous memory space to decompress and store game graphics, sounds, & data that are needed to play the game. In addition if any programs that have run have leaked any memory, that memory will become unavailable to programs like MSR. And finally, the OS is supposed to shutdown other programs that are currently running in memory. If the OS is unable to make the memory available to the application so the application fails. Other possible causes of this problem are people modifying their phones, and also any resident drivers that may take up additional memory.

By performing a soft reset, you are doing 3 main things: clearing out any leaked memory, defragmenting the memory space, and finally, shutting down all programs that are currently running.

I can only speculate why a few people are having some persistent problems with this issue, but there is one thing that will resolve this problem irregardless of the cause and that's to reduce the overall memory requirements for MSR. I already aggresively reduced the requirements in order to get MSR on the Smartphone in the first place. I'm in the process of reducing the memory requirements further and will hopefully make an update available shortly.

Thx,
