i know theres alot of people out there more than happy with the custom roms available. and i was until recently.

but im feeling its just a little one sided since Taril's departure!

theres a fair few roms with pretty much everything removed, and m2d, spb etc etc added, and maybe im just missing it, but there seems to be no cooker that spends there time optimizing whats already in the rom. but dont get me wrong these cookers are doing a great job. but they are just not for me.

i dont think im alone with liking the original omnia feel and ss apps.

is it the case that no other cooker can do what Taril done? or no cooker wants to?

maybe im wrong, what are your thoughts???

i guess it will be back to one of secanys roms when the next one is released!!

I double that m8!

I tried almost all available custom roms but wasn't satisfied as I am with Taril's latest HL3 & IA2.

Hopefully Taril will be back soon, otherwise Secany's future roms are the ones to use as well.

I know what you mean.... don't see why lots of stuff is removed!!

Anyway, this one looks like it has most/all of the samsing apps kept in (plus m2d)... am downloading now... so will let you know what it's like.

maybe you should just be patient..

remember the old days without custom rom, and enjoy your current one for a while instead of flashing :)

I mean, new ROMs will come (believe me), many things happen these days.. wm6.5, new kitchen (means new cooks) and I hope new original ROM soon !

enjoy your phone, you'll hard-reset soon enough :D

I think the roms (one with m2d, one without) Qbus has made do a good job of walking the line of keeping or dropping original Omnia parts. Just add the few caps you think are needed for you and you're good to go.

IMHO

Just finished flashing and testing the above... works great, and has (from what I can tell) all of the original apps.

Well worth a try.

Perhaps here is a something that BARE rom cooks could understand...

And please dont call those roms "Clean".

Clean = rubbish removed NOT ALL removed.

Remember that each of us thinks of different applications as "rubbish".

There is no universal solution for that.

I agree, as I see it a clean/vanilla ROM is one with only MS stuff, no additionnal stuff from OEM or operator.

A really clean rom would have MS stuff taken out as well. Which is only next worse to operator provided rubbish.

Btw, lastnikita, can you tell us how much free device space you have after installing the replacements and how many apps etc do you have installed?

I want to get my head around what the gobs of free space is used for and what is leftover by the average "clean" rom user.

Thanks
