Guest Masta92 Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Hi Masta92, A quick question, have you installed new opera to a memory card? If the answer is "yes", would you be able to assist with the registry hacks to make it work from the titanium panel - I think I'm almost there but I must be missing another config - can you help? Thanks. Michelle Ya got to go Chome Editor Menu > Manual Edit Item Values > Opera Opera is not in Windows but in Program Files/Opera Mobile/ Name is not opera9 but Opera9-ml or OperaL So change value with : \Program Files\Opera Mobile\Opera9-ml.exe; Http://www.google.fr/ (If ya want shortcut for google.fr Repeat the operation for each shortcut ya want AND in Opera9.mscr Change the path of Opera6.adr (your bookmarks) wit \Program Files\Opera Mobile\Profile\Opera6.adr Edited June 13, 2009 by Masta92

Guest nollie Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Using the latest ROM 28212 now and wondering if anyone could help on a small problem; I set lock on my phone - 4 characters, but I needed to turn the lock system off in the settings in order to use Sat Nav without interruption and though I am able to enter digits, there is no way for me to unlock the phone - or exit the number entering screen so I have to re-insert the battery. Is there any way I can overcome this to access Lock Settings? Edited June 13, 2009 by nollie

Guest vinbeaver Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) New issue, with the newest rom I cannot use the camera. The only difference from programs installed from previously is the plugin for that flash clock from TWolf. Now I installed favorite hackings to my storage card and did the patch for the camera and i'm not sure if maybe that did anything, but i cannot use my camera either by using the button on the side or going to the programs list. Is there anyway I can fix this and does anyone know of any conflicts some programs or plugins may have with camera cause i remember someone mentioning something awhile back. EDIT: Resolved the issue, I uninstalled and reinstalled favorite hackings to the device and re-did the firmware upgrade and now it works again... very weird. Edited June 13, 2009 by vinbeaver

Guest NikichZ Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 HAPPY B-DAY! Thanks for your ROMs!!! I have one little problem: i can't change email settings, so even if i set receiving headers only for the last 3 days, it still download full messages for all days. Any ideas?
Guest sinancetinkaya Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Q: What is pagepool? A: Page pool is an area of RAM which is set aside to hold the next block of code the processor is likely to need to execute. It prefetches this from ROM as it executes the program. If the next step of the program needs something that's not in the page pool, the processor goes to the ROM to get it. ROM access is slower than RAM access. So generally, as you increase the page pool size, the chances of the required code being in the page pool increases and speed increases. There is a limit beyond which you won't see any increase in performance. When I was making G900 roms, I used the Dynamic PagePool (This means PagePool=0) and the OS uses ram as much as it needs, that's why XDA Rom makers always use Dynamic PagePool. I think PagePool doesn't bring performance as much as it's ram I used to think Omnia i900 already has the PagePool ram area, because it has 128 mb but the OS says 96-97 (I don't remember) mb of ram I thought Samsung allocated 32 mb of ram as PagePool If our devices doesn't have PagePool, where is our ram ? BTW, as you said, PagePool: Allocating ram area for XIP and other important things. More PagePool than you need doesn't mean more performance.
Guest RoSoMaK Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 (edited) HAPPY B-DAY! Guest mattb777 Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 first of all i jsut want to thank sector on another awesome rom!! my one problem is with java, firstly i can't open java games to install them with the new 21812 which i could open with 21806. and if i press on the java icon in start menu to open the midlet and install it the old fashioned way i get this error: "the file 'jbed' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling... " is anyone else getting this, and is there a quick fix? thanks guys

Guest sinancetinkaya Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 (edited) so you are saying if i set pagepool to 0 it is much better? by default the pagepool is 8mb as i can remember. for ram..yes, it's much better try two different roms. One rom with pagepool 0 and one rom with page pool 8-12 or 16 mb (doesn't matter) Compare them, in my opinion you won't see big differences between them Yes, the rom with pagepool will be a bit faster but will it worth it's ram ? NO and one more thing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring "DefaultSound" this value refers to My Documents\My Ringtones If the user (like me) doesn't have "My Ringtone" folder in his syncronisation folder , Phone Settings and Sound Notification Settings causes error if "DefaultSound" referred to "Windows", it would be better, i think Big thanks you and other i900 rom makers, I can imagine how much time you spend for these works Edited June 14, 2009 by sinancetinkaya

Guest vinbeaver Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 I don't know but this latest release sector appears to be the fastest one to date, I don't remember what your pagepool size is but i used the 18 last time and it was causing me headaches with shutting programs down and my RAM was always close to 90% or over 90%. I think we've reached a happy medium, but test it and if you find better your word is boss around here.
