Regular visitors to the site will know that we always start device review with an unboxing video which invariably includes a quick tour of the product. Love them or hate them there's no denying the popularity of unboxing videos, YouTube is full of them and our own unboxings are always highly viewed and solicit lots of comments.

A few months ago Matt (from TracyAndMatt) and I were talking about unboxing videos and at the time we said 'we should really do something with our videos', as we both have a number of them on YouTube and a few sitting on some of the other video hosting services.

After a couple of months of talking about it we finally did something and Matt and I are now pleased to announce the launch of our new site unboxings.com!

We are both uploading our unboxing videos to the site (there are still some more to go on) but the site will act as one central place to have a look at past and present videos in, we hope, a cleanly laid out site. Between us we unbox new 'toys' every few days so there should be new contnt added fairly regularly.

Of course we'll still have videos and reviews here on MoDaCo but unboxings.com will be a place to see only unboxing videos!

Please do let us have your feedback. Matt and I are keen to know what you think of the site and the concept itself and why do you think unboxing videos are a love or hate thing?

Enjoy! :(

only thing is the "Select a Catergory" drop down currently makes you scroll the whole browser window (latest firefox on win xp) down to see all the options

Yeah, there's a few tweaks to be had!

I've had the unboxings.com domain in my portfolio a while, figured I should probably do something with it... :(

I love unboxings - and I'm not sure why.

Perhaps it's because you can often get to see if a lanyard loop is present (or even included) - it's "my one weakness" - and an absolute dealbreaker in a mobile device for me.

It rarely gets mentiioned in reviews - The lage sized images on Expansys are also a good source.

Would be good if you & T/M add subtitles to these videos from the link I sent you a while back. :(

Great site, pretty useful & very visual!

I noticed that in the categories list you have two for Asus. One appears to be netbooks the other WinMo devices, maybe you should change the category titles to show this?

They are actually subcategoried... I want to update the menu so the key categories are collapsed by default and you pick the one you want...

Fantastic Paul... one comment.... on T&Ms site they have a button so you can get MSN Messenger updates when there is a new news item ( som thing you could do with here may be ? ) - is there any chance you can get the same added to Unboxing ?

Bar that - the site has great potential plus its nice to see the major sites working together..... may be you could get Gears from Coolsmartphone involved too ?
