Guest forelli Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Sounds interesting to me but I have to let you know that 1. I don't think it's a very good idea to remove some basic programs, for example MS Office. 2. Some programs can be removed but some cannot. I also don't know how to remove some Omnia programs/controls. 3. Adding programs directly to the ROM usually save more storage memory than CAB installation. 4. Those few tools I add in the ROM are very small and most unnecessary files (in the CAB if available) are removed. 5. The main reason I add VSD in the ROM is from I couldn't make VC working after 21500. Good news that it may be possible for the next ROM that I can remove VSD and supply CAB for both programs. Again, VSD is quite small in size compared with other voice command programs. 6. Although making smaller ROM can improve speed and increase storage but there is a lower limit in ROM size. I will have to check this for Omnia. However, thanks for your input. I'll try my best for the next UltraLite ROM. It will be as smallest as possible while keeping its best functions as our companion. +1. I second that, I'm running the Ultra Lite and it's light enough for me, plus, I noticed that some programs run normally when they're cooked, rather than installed from cabs. I said. forelli
Guest chokia Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 The new build is 21725. I got it today but still busy until this weekend. 21234 -> 21275 -> 21725 Wow i wonder what new features it brings for that huge leap
Guest Khuanchai Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Hi Khuanchai, I really like your roms. I have used Qbus and then Sector roms (since G2) before, and now yours. I like your comments and have some on yours. 1. Agree. I like and use MS Office a lot. 2. Agree. I mentioned WMP and FM radio. You cooks know of more I'm sure. 3. Maybe. Some of the list as cabs can be added back to My Storage and work fine. These ones would reduce Main Memory. 4. Maybe. I use PHM Reg Edit (habit for many years back to HP3600) and it is very small. But several small ones added together and put in My Storage might add up to a goodly amount of Main Memory saved. 5. Maybe. I hope you can take out VSD. I don't use any of it. I don't know if any of your many USA followers can use it or no. 6. Agree. If there is a low limit, you are stuck with that. Also, for the programs that can go in My Storage/Program Files means I don't to load them with every rom update. And I have their shortcuts in a Program Folder that I save and restore. (comment for those who might think of the work to reload cabs with a new rom.) Thanks, Ron... (PS-donation coming per PM) Thanks for comments and donation. In fact, I shouldn't ask for donation but just because some friends asked to help. My work here is a hobby and I love to do it. Concerning the coming new ROM, it will still be a BT-fixed ROM. Please don't ask me to go back to the non-BT fixed ROM. :) I'm sorry to keep these programs in the ROM - Titanium (but no Titanium 7), this is WM6.5 default today - MS Office - PHM Register Editor, for minimal registry edit - Samsung R2VS, need to install to main memory only - HTC Task Manager, this is most practical but can be disabled These programs will be removed but some CAB's will be available. - FavoriteHackings - Voice Speed Dial/Voice command - Shake and Save - Torch Button - Streaming Player These programs in fact are not in my UltraLite ROM. - Voip programs - Advance Config - IMselector - Games - Smart Lock - Touch Player - Windows Live - Smart Converter, Smart Reader, Startup Manager I don't know how to remove these programs, helps are welcome. - Restore Network – not needed by many of your followers. - Domain Enroll – not needed by many. Final remark: My new ROM based on build 21725 will be available not before this weekend. <_<

Guest mo976 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Khuanchai Will there be UC compatibility? please! Thanks for your hard work!
Guest ronaldb3 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) Hi Khuanchai, I think you have a good list there for you next Ultralite rom. For me, I won't be using Titanium (using MS3). Sorry we could not get the space back for that one. I won't be using HTC Task Mgr, but I know many do. (I use Task Switcher on Main Button Hold.) As to the ones you don't have anyways, I was just trying to make a good list to cover all, and maybe other cooks will see this list and think about them and what others add/delete for their Ultralite wants. One more small thing. Could you use more generic names for the Buttons? I usually change most of them to call something else. (I know I can always edit the names in the registry. :D ) Really looking forward to your next release. <_< :) B) Ron... Edited May 27, 2009 by ronaldb3

Copy Titanium_240x400.cpr from windows to your PC Open with Notepad and scroll down till you find this in Clock section: <!-- Date --> <Text ID="Date" Left="155" Top="32" Width="71" Height="20" FontFamily="Tahoma" FontSize="10" FontStyle="Regular" Wrap="False" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Trimming="EllipsisCharacter"> <TextStage TextOffsetType="TextOffsetDropBottomRight" Color="#00000000" TextOffset="1" BlurFactor="3" Alpha="1.0" /> <TextStage TextOffsetType="TextOffsetNone" Color="#FFFFFFFF" /> </Text> <!-- Day of Week --> <Text ID="Day of Week" Left="80" Top="32" Width="70" Height="20" FontFamily="Tahoma" FontSize="10" FontStyle="Regular" Wrap="False" HorizontalAlignment="" Trimming="EllipsisCharacter"> <TextStage TextOffsetType="TextOffsetDropBottomRight" Color="#00000000" TextOffset="1" BlurFactor="3" Alpha="1.0" /> Change the value in red from 90 to 80 (this moves the day further to the left. You can make a few alignment changes here to suit your needs. Save your changes and copy back to Windows directory on phone and restart Titanium

Guest omnia newbie Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 hi Khuanchai, thanks for the great ROM,21234 3-1 ROM... i am one of the techno. idiots.. as you say.. ultralite for advance users/with many requests.. I am a big fan of 3-1 ROM. PLEASE continue to support the 'less advanced, lazy" with yours 3-1 ROM/M2D.. we like all the useful tools in there and more in there...!.. many thanks again for the great ROM
Guest jackljane Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Khuanchai, I love what you have done with this ROM especially the Ultra Lite verion. This give the user the control of what they want in their Omnia minus all the unnecessary stuff. I am wondering if you would release a 21725 and DXID1 Ultra Lite version or are you waiting for the actual RTM before cooking the ROM. I understand that you are thai. สว้สดี่ครับ. Thanks a lot for your effort.
Guest Augustocvc Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Kuanchai in next rom fix the bug of the clock when is locked and please don't change the java for the JBend 2009 the sound not work, also did not like the news that you will remove some applications from the tools folder of the version ultralite. Guest scottath Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 There a way to modify what is shown on the lock screen? Mine just has the slideing thing (which grows a number if there is a message/missed call etc) and the time at the bottom. Can you add stuff to that? outline of the message recieved/analogue clock/something else along those lines
Guest Khuanchai Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Thanks for the heads up m8! Take your time, will be waiting your new build. <_< HTC Task Manager doesn't function well if not cooked, so it is good news that will be cooked again. Please check whether VSD will function well if not cooked but installed from a cab. Yes, I have tested VSD CAB and it works well. :) Good news! I'm testing the new ROM build 21725 and may release it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. B)

So I can plan on using this weekend to rebuild everything again. Yea! :) Maybe MS will slow down on core releases for awhile. 3. I am thinking you mean core build 21275. Even that is a big number jump from 21234. The biggest difference jump in numbers lately. Ron... Edited May 28, 2009 by ronaldb3

I'm testing the new ROM build 21725 and may release it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. <_< Hi Khuanchai, Sector has found a bug? in latest build where touch is playing up... he posted the following QUOTE(sector @ May 28 2009, 23:34) Guys i think i have fixed the touch problem. Stupid MS added some new things in registry which makes tap worst. Go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Touch\Filter] and delete "MinimumTapTime"=dword:28 wait 30 seconds and reboot. it fixed my touch. I will see if i can find more things. Might be good to implement fix in your build if above is true

Guest whatledog Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 hey, you all... I flashed this newest rom and then added the DXDI1 phone to my omnia i900. Like the rom lots, but this phone part is the pits in North Carolina, getting 1 or 2 bar, tops. Will someone please direct me to a previous phone bin so I get out of this? Haven't had a problem til this phone... thanks <_<
Guest Khuanchai Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) Update: Omnia ROM UltraLite base DXID1 build 21725 with BT-audio fix (29 May 2009) This UltraLite ROM is based on new build 21725. I try to make this ROM as clean as possible. However, some useful tools are still in. Voice speed dial is removed but can be installed by a CAB file. Voice command was tested and seems to work normally. Needs further test and please report. This ROM will have HTC Task Manager but it can be disabled if you don't need. Download link updated in the first post. Enjoy! Edited May 29, 2009 by Khuanchai
