Guest altim Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Mouse is one of the most useful distinctive features of Samsung Omnia. I got used to using touch pad style mouse on a laptop and find it extremely helpful on my Samsung Omnia. Internet browsing was mentioned as one area but it is useful everywhere where precision in tapping is required. It is an alternative to stylus and often more convinient as it is always on and does not require taking the stylus out. I was skipping any ROM that did not include a working mouse till now and intend to do so in the future even if it will mean staying on old ROMs.
Guest noshet Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Never use it....and I don't think I ever will....just simply touch the screen man....
Guest forelli Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 I use it like crazy because my damned fingers are too big for the life of me B) (at least for the tiny selections, for closing programs or to use the HTC task mngr, for file explorer, links in opera, drop down menus when looking to associate a ringtone to a contact, alarm tone, ringtone, etc.) AND it's useful because it's so damn accurate... :(
Guest rodrigorajao Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 I used to use it A LOT. I had an iPaq hx4700 that had a tiny trackpad, which worked exactly like the finger sensor on the Omnia. So I used the mouse a lot to click on some tiny things on the screen (mainly some apps that aren't touch-friendly). But I had to stop using it since I updated to a ROM that had a bug with the mouse, and I'm too lazy to switch to another ROM. One thing I hated was the arrow floating around the screen when I didn't need it. It'd be nice if it simply disappeared after a few seconds of inactivity.
Guest Massive Attack Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) I dont use it, but MAYBE I would if I didnt have to lift my finger to go around the screen. a scroll ball maybe? Edited March 29, 2009 by Massive Attack
Guest DeeinSouthAfrica Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) I voted NO. I keep the nail on my little finger sharpened to a point. It's great for fine Omnia work (and taking out eyeballs). B) Of course, I'm female and a sharp pinkie is a perfectly acceptable weapon of war. :( Edited March 29, 2009 by DeeinSouthAfrica
Guest aaak2000 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 FINGERMOUSE IS THE BEST EVER!!! IT MAKE YOU ONE HAND FREE... please make it work for WM6.5 somehow... Thanks :D
Guest ptmaniac Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 since i flashed my omnia to winmo6.5 on the same day i got it, i don't miss the fingermouse a lot lol... but i did try it before flashing and was surprised by how accurate it was. i'm sure i would use it sometimes if it was working in winmo6.5 but it's not important enough to make me flash stock rom again...
Guest shokka9 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 seriously, the mouse is and will be a thing of the past. On Omnia II, i dont think (almost 100% positive) there will be NO mouse. With the way the tech is heading, is all about touch and gestures...no need to move an icon around a screen when u can simply touch where you want it to be..... Redundant....but i know some of you are die hard mouse fans.....you will soon forget and get over it ;) It would be nice to have it working in our ROMs tho, as it is supposed to :D, but it is not crucial or vital for daily usage (for most of us). But on a working front it would be nice to see as it should :D
Guest endursa Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I have used custom roms since the first day i bought the phone, some had issues with the finger mouse some didn't but i really didn't care cause i never used it, i tryed it however i didn't find it very usefull! so i'm not missing it a second in any of the awesome 6.5 roms of yours sector :D
Guest cd78 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I would use it if i could - im on W6.5. Used to use it before - really useful for some dropdown menus and also web browsing
Guest rayanmx Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I use it and continue to use it until Microsoft decides to build a well designed and FULL Touch UI. There are times when you NEED more precise selections throughout the UI and I don't carry the damn stylus because there's no way to put in IN the device! And don't tell me you use the feminine mascara-like stylus because I will not believe you! LOL... :D (unless you are a woman) The Finger Mouse is sometimes clumsy and jerky, but it's the only option I have. Period! Cheers! RayanMX
Guest adianus Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I use it whenever i fail to select what i intended to (which is like all the time, considering the size of my fingertips) i don't upgrade to wm6.5 just because the mouse doesn't work..
