Guest jchamier Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) Since the middle of last week, my Vario III (Kaiser) with HTC Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM has stopped being able to use 3G / HSDPA. I've put my SIM back in my older Vario II (with T-mobile UK 6.0 ROM) and it works perfectly as expected. The Vario III works fine on 2G / GPRS, functioning as expected. I've just completed a hard reset, and even upgraded the radio to version 1.70, but to no avail. Anyone else had issues, have T (UK) changed something? I've tried my pre-pay SIM as well (this only gets 384kbps 3G normally) with the same effects. I've also tried disabling HSDPA; to no avail. Perhaps its really T trying to get rid of me?! Guest jchamier Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Perhaps its really T trying to get rid of me?! I'm starting to think the 3G radio is broken. Wonder why it starts up, shows the 3G or H symbol on the top line (depending if HSDPA is enabled) and then about 10 seconds later goes to "No service". :-(
Guest jchamier Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Tried cleaning your SIM contacts? B) LOL, yeah, that trick don't work no more :-( Guess I'm looking at buying a new phone. Can't decide if I want to wait for a Touch Pro2, or get a Touch HD unconnected. Suspect I'll be looking at a few months for a Pro2, but then I'm no longer using the phone as much as I was, I could stick with 2G for now.
Guest jchamier Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Flashed back the original WM6.0 ROM, Radio and splash screen (left hard-SPL installed). Seems to be working again on 3G. Wonder why. Anyway, I've got myself a Touch HD instead ;-)
