Guest meabigbaldguy Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Nope, the multiclock that distorts, happens randomly, you just have to refresh CHome when it happens. Also, a good tip is to disable M2D when playing with it. Same with Titanium. Good job Thanks for the tips. I'll certainly keep those in mind. I know that the Titanium multiclock distorts, and as I've mentioned earlier it tends to "jump up and down". I'm using M2D in Today, and not Titanium so I don't see how the clock could still be a problem... unless I'm missing something?? The graphic distortion that I'm speaking of always appears in the middle of the screen, appears as a small square, and it flares out whatever happens to be displayed on that part of the screen. So far, it seems to clear up all on it's own... that is until I restart the device. Anyway, I'll continue to see if I can find the cause. So far, I've had no further M2D crashes since I've forgone the Samsung Menu - even after a bunch of reboots. That was a strange one indeed because I'm sure that there are other ROMS out there that use both without a problem. The only thing that I can conclude at this point is that perhaps the problem had to do with the fact that I installed the menu as a CAB, and that it wasn't already cooked into the ROM. I'm itching to install MS3 again also, but at this point I'm hesitant. I'll think that I'll stick soley with M2D for a while and get my feet wet.
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Can some of you avid M2D users here tell me if it's possible to add cities to the weather list? Is it possible at all? I'm a new M2D user and I noticed that the available cities is on the short side. Thanks, folks!

Someone guide me....

Someone guide me.... You can use either 7zip or WinRAR to extract the files. Just extract part 1... or any ONE of the three files, but the key thing is to download all three of them. Then you can flash the ROM. But before you flash , make sure that you load Samsung modem updater onto your PC. This is for XP PC only. If you are using Vista, search the forum for those instructions or go to samsungmobile.com, omnia website, upgrade your Omnia link. There you will find official instructions for XP and Vista as well as the official ROM by region.SamsungModem_xp.zip
Guest crazyhorse1962 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 It doesnt have the BT part.... :D The bluetooth icons(green=connected and red=active and busy)are in the windows. ;)
Guest Feramando Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 the updater tells me checksum failed... what is wrong ? anyone can help me out ?
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 redownload the ROM....restart PC and try again.
Guest Kikuchi_Kun Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 I have a slight problem with mine after flashing. It seems that it will always try to return to the home page of my m2d when I try to do something. Say I click on start (with the honeycomb thing), a few seconds later, it will revert to the m2d home page. Also does it when I launch a program. I'd try to run say, resco contacts manager or some game, a few seconds later it will minimise the program, and revert to m2d home. it occurs very randomly but very frequently, and I really like this rom, but it has become a real frustration.
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 do you have a lot of apps running?? Have you changed HTC Task manager so it closes apps upon pressing X?? Check the settings. This sounds like a page pool issue. You may have too many apps running at once and you are simply running out of RAM. Close apps that you have finished with, i mean properly close them, so NOT let them run in the background. Good luck
Guest Kikuchi_Kun Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Yup, the X button closes, not minimises, so there aren't any apps running. About 99% of the time, it's only 1 program running (the one I'm trying to open).
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 strange, not had it happen to me with 12mb page pool. Could be something else?? That you will have installed... :D
Guest Kikuchi_Kun Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 I might try and reflash the rom after my exams. which is about 1.5 weeks away. Thanks for the quick replies shokka =)
Guest Feramando Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 is it normal to be stucked at Downloading Images : 13% for a very long time ?
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 erm no...it should move on.... If it is still sat there...... Close the updater, re-open it....soft reset the Omnia and you should be able to go again. As long as you have the done the eboot section (the first bit) you should be able to soft reset and get the Updater workign again. If it doesnt work, you are very unlucky and your Omnia wants an early grave. Hope not :D Good luck
Guest Feramando Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 yay i did it ! it is very nice, how come i don't see the honeycomb ?
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 because i dont use it... Go to khuanchai's thread...he has a cab for you (or some files) if you really NEED it. It is easy to mod bro... Glad u fixed and and sucessfully flashed it bro, well done! :D
Guest Diggedy Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 ive also had this issue with m2d returning to the home screen. I was only using my sat nav (garmin) or browsing menu`s and all of a sudden id be back on the today screen, sometimes the app would open as though minimised, osmetimes it had closed fully. I checked the task manager and there were no apps open. Ive found rebooting my phone gets rid of it for a while but it soon comes back. Also this morning when reading emails, whenever i exited outlook touchflo would restart

Also this morning when reading emails, whenever i exited outlook touchflo would restart I'm having the same glitch with TFLo as well. Apps will cut out and then suddenly go back to home screen. Also too, the music player only plays about the first 10 seconds of a song... broken up... before it will suddenly stop and say "No Music Found". I'm also not able to do re-copy the HH_409.xml weather file after I do a city edit. Anyway, you said yourself Shokka, that your version of M2D does have it's bugs. I'm not complaining though.
Guest shokka9 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 it has bugs but not like those... To edit the xml....copy it out to your PC, edit it. Then copy it back over to the Omnia. Then use Resco or Total Commander to overwrite the file in Windows... You need to use of those or similar as its a system/ROM file. I have not had it cut out on me yet...i use Coreplayer every single day with NO issues on playback..3 hours a day worth of listening. You guys must have stuff running in the background for it to bomb you out of apps. There is no other reason for this. It isnt M2D doing this....TRUST ME! Do you guys run ClearTemp to get RAM back at all.....run and select all, then unselect the options with no file size next to them. Good luck.

I'm not sure what the problem is with the M2D music player, but it just bombs out after several seconds. I can restart the song, but then the result is the same. For this reason, I've also installed the Touch Player CAB and that plays out well. Anyway it's not a big deal because I really don't use the omnia for music. About the Weather updating, I use Total Commander to overwrite the file but it just won't allow me to copy it. I've copied the ROM file to my PC and have made the edits with Notepad; however, I cannot paste it back. I'm guessing it's probably because I've used File Explorer to copy out and not TC? Also, no more TFlo crashes, so it appears that the Samsung Menu CAB was the culprit. Anyway, overall I'm very happy with the ROM.
Guest Menifestozz Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Hi Shokka, Great room once again. Ask you two question. 1. Which apps to install in your kitchen section if I want my contact list to show like the original ROM where I can select contacts from simcard or phone? 2. Which apps to install in your kitchen section if I want the original Samsung Alarm? Thanks in advance. :D

Which apps to install in your kitchen section if I want the original Samsung Alarm? Thanks in advance. :D Perhaps I can answer... 1. Samsung Dialer... though I'm not 100% sure on this one. Some one else sure? 2. Samsung Clock... I'm absolutely positive because I'm doing this exact same thing. I prefer the Samsung alarm and it works well on this. From his kitchen, I used CABs from IA5 and IDI. Edited June 27, 2009 by meabigbaldguy
