Guest Omega Ra Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 since ive put wozzers rom...v.5 ive been unable to use my wifi. when i go to the settings it lists phone and bluetooth. as if its not detecting my wireless card. anyone have any ideas this is a known issue. Basically the phone loads too fast and the wifi driver doesn't get to load. There are a couple solutions. Check in Wozzer's thread again or go to PPCgeeks and look in adrynalynes thread, he posted a fix.
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Sometimes a simple reset fixes it too.

Guest wamsille Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Again, if it didn't work for you, you didn't do something right. Flash the rom, install your choice of mapping app that does gps, and it works. There is no reason to install 3 apps to get gps going. Also, VZNavigator doesn't work without a data connection. Google Maps will cache map information so you can go for a while without it. This may not be a big thing for some of you, but where i live, there's a lot of area with no coverage, which is why i said screw vznav because i can't use it half the time. That's just it. GPS did work for me on the flashed ROM. What I found in my testing though was that the GPS was unreliable and slow to get a lock. That's because aGPS is still locked. For my purposes, based on where I live and I would use GPS on my device, VZ Nav is the most viable option. Here is what I did with my original Omnia: 1) I flashed the first leaked ROM 2) I enabled GPS 3) I performed a reset on the device 4) I installed Google Maps 5) I enabled GPS in Google Maps, allowed Windows to manage GPS 6) Within 5-6 minutes, I received my first lock In real world tests, I didn't find the GPS to be reliable. I took other suggestions and tried Live Search for free turn by turn directions. I installed GPSgate because of the issues *some* were having with getting locks and GPS remaining active / detected by various programs. I tried GPS Toggle as well. I also went and tried iGO 8 for GPS navigation - liked it to an extent but wasn't immediately a fan. Again, if it didn't work for you, you didn't do something right. Well, re-read my post and my response to you here. For all intents and purposes I had unlocked GPS. The ROM did what it was stated to do. However, for practical reasons this isn't a feasible solution for me. Modders, please keep up the continued good work because despite the one glaring issue of aGPS you have all worked to improve the software issues on the Omnia.

Guest theidoctor.org Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 hopefully, when the actual rom from verizon comes public, the gps/ agps issue will be fixed.
Guest wamsille Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 hopefully, when the actual rom from verizon comes public, the gps/ agps issue will be fixed. Agreed, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Guest Adrynalyne Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 I find the funny thing here is how the poster treating everyone like idiots must have missed the fact initially, NOBODY had GPS working after flashing the beta rom. Maybe they didn't do it right either? Fact is this rom: Its not perfect. It needs work. Its not entirely reliable. However, I love it. I feel bad for those it doesn't work, but I don't see any reason to belittle them. Help them if you can, stfu if you want to treat people poorly.
Guest gruven98 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Help them if you can, stfu if you want to treat people poorly. ((( A-FN-MEN )))
Guest bga7x Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) Help them if you can, stfu if you want to treat people poorly. This is why you are respected across all forums!!!! p.s. Thanks for your cooked rom!!! My Phone flies now!!!! Edited April 28, 2009 by bga7x
Guest paradizelost Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Are you retarded? Do you think Im lying about having flashed my phone? Why do you think that because something worked for you it works for everyone? Dont be an idiot please What the hell are you talking about? Vznav worked for me just fine! You must have been doing something wrong. Maybe you don't know how to turn your phone on? Re: VZnav - my point was that in a rural area like i am in, if you don't have cell coverage, i.e. in the middle of no-where, vznav doesn't work because it downloads the map section by section, as you go through an area. i.e. if you don't have a data connection, it doesn't work. that's why i use google maps. it caches map data, so even if you cant update your map, you can get the path ahead of time, and it will still update your location accurately. Sorry to all if i came off as an ass on some of the posts, had read many, and tried them, and nothing worked, then tried "windows managed" and it worked fine for me. Figured it was like the other thread where people were getting different sets of things people had tried in the process mixed up and weren't reading the "official" howto.
Guest btcoutermash Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I just tried the Megaupload link and it said the file was removed. Any idea where to get the firmware?

Guest madhtr13 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Hey, can any of you who have the Rom please seed it? Tried link from idoctor (thanks), but there are no available seeds. Only 11 peers with only 384.2kb available. Thanks!
Guest Cooper3950 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 (edited) I hope there is not some easy setting box to check to fix this but I have scoured the phone for a possible setting for this. Since flashing with the new ROM, when I have multiple text messages from the same person in threaded mode, I press to open the message and read it then exit. It still says I have unread messages in the thread. For example, when Scarlett Johansson sends me 8 text messages to see what I am doing tonight, I have to open up the threaded message 8 times to clear all the new messages. :D Any ideas what is going on here? Edited April 29, 2009 by Cooper3950
Guest Shadow750 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 OK, so for those of you who have been following the 910 GPS thread know that, thanks to Azintegra, we have a new ROM for the i910. GPS still isn't working as of this post, but there are a few other updates that have piqued my interest :D . I am wondering if anyone has had a sucessful, as in no issues with functionality, install of this new ROM? *EDIT* This has worked fine for me and for some other members. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! AFTER DOING THIS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL UNLESS YOU HAVE A ROM TO FLASH BACK TO IF THEN. YOU MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE! PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDE EXACTLY! IF IT IS NOT CHECKED IN THE SCREEN CAP, DO NOT CHECK IT ON YOUR COMPUTER. USERS ARE REPORTING THAT SELECTING INITIALIZE PHONE OR UPDATE BOOTLOADER MAY CAUSE THE PHONE CONNECTION AND DATA TO STOP WORKING. THIS IS FOR THE I910 ONLY! Alignment___Adjustment.pdf UMDL_OMNIA_v2.3.rar Megaupload link for new Firmware The Megaupload link for the firmware is not working. does anyone know where I can get the firmware? Thnaks in advance for any help! Scott

Guest turboady Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I have followed the pdf installation manual EXACTLY and I get the following message after my PDA gets detected: Eboot does not support DPRAM downloader. Download aborted. Is there a work-around for this issue? Also, in the UMDL_Omnia_v2.3, first line: Select a platform: - when I select SCH-i910 || (WM6.1)[DPRAM], I get the error above. - when I select SCH-i910 || (WM6.1), the process actually starts but gets stuck at downloading EBOOT Does anyone know the difference between the two platforms? Also, is there a fix for the Eboot does not support DPRAM downloader issue? Thanks!
