I've been watching Mobiles.co.uk for a few weeks, mainly on Touch HD / Omnia / Xperia.

I've been watch the Xperia at £50 on a £35pm Orange renewal, and thinking I'll leave it a couple of weeks, it might go down a bit....

Last week it was up to £60, and now it's up to £90!!

Looks like the Touch and Omnia are up as well...

Is it due to this:

Anyone have any ideas??

The EU tax from the article is 14% for phones with a TV receiver and 3.7% for navigation enabled phones. The Xperia doesn't have built in TV so we would be talking a 3.7% price rise due to the tax, not a 50% increase. The price rise is probably more likely due to either the weak pound catching up on imports, or Orange being greedy.
