anyone have a copy of the "classic ring" ringtone? I hate the VZW default that wozzer left in...lol.

It's in the windows file already.(classic bell?) I moved it around but can only play it in audio manager. I even tried setting it as default ringtone in there.. It doesn't show up anywhere. Hmmm

EDIT: Never mind. I had to click twice on hidden in total commander to make it unhidden. Now it works.

Proposed wifi fix.

First, delete HKLM/init/Launch75.

Then install this cab, wait 20 seconds and soft reset.

Tried this... now my wireless manager dies when I try to start it...

I got it working. I used Mem Maid to set ringtones to my storage and once it was there windows saw it and I was able to set it under notifications.

WoZZeR - Kick A$$ ROM...love the gobs of extra space...Nice Work!

however...

I just noticed the video camera records 3g2 files but when opening them with TCPMP I'm getting an error:

"Player: Audio Codec (Qualcomm QCELP) not supported by the player!"

Plays the video fine, but no audio. I've found the only alternative is to open recorded videos within the camera application itself to view them w/ sound.

Is there an alternate player that anyone can recommend that will play both video/sound?

Cool, I hated that other sound also. I have most everyone set to a different ring tone and when the bell goes off I know its probably someone I dont know. Plus I can hear it better.

BTW THANKS WoZZEer for the great rom it's almost exactly what I wanted.

So...Verizon is sending me a replacement Omnia due to my GPS being finicky...Does anybody have the stock .img file that this phone shipped with so I can re-flash it when I send it back? On a larger note, if I flashed it with the un-official VZW rom update that is lingering around would it raise any red flags in terms of "rom version or H/W version" under "version" in the system tab of settings...Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Double check and make sure your have an entry under HKLM/init for launch200. Should have a value of WlanAutoldr.exe. Did you soft reset after installing the cab?

Truth be told, you are the first to complain about the fix.

Get VITO SMS-Chat - it shows timestamps correctly and it's a better app

i've been using it and it has the same flaw with the incoming message time stamps

Wozzer: Just a note, the startup splash screen has been changed but the shut down screen is still Verizon. Not difficult to change, just figured I'd throw it out there to be corrected if you'd like in the next update.

I haven't really found too much else to complain about. Good work.

*3 - Follow the instructions here to add custom cities tp the weather tab.

WooHoo :excl: Did this, got rid of most of the file, down to 2.12 kb, added the cities I wanted and it works :excl: Thanks again. Although I prefer weather.com on opera because I need detailed info like wind speed and direction. I set it as my homepage but when I opened Opera it was still on Google. I was going to try and change that but then I figured let it open in Google in case I needed it and just hit the home botton which takes me to weather if I need it. Can you get the weather tab to give detailed info? Thanks

PS I never lost the wifi button. I have reset several times and it was always there. I tried it and it worked although I never connected to my network because I don't know the 26 number code offhand and didn't feel like looking for it. But the network came up to connect to and the button is always there.

How's the wm 6.5 effort coming along? It's supposed to be a lot more finger friendly, including smoother kinetic scrolling...

hello WoZZeR's Just a quick question for you. I was messing with the wifi cab that you posted a few pages back. In the process of deleting hklm/init/launch75 I either delete the line before or the line after and now my phone has no service. Can I just reflash the new Rom and that fix the problem? thanks for your help and hard work.

Could somebody go into their settings, and then go to phone, change thier ringtone and press ok.

My screen doesn't close when I press ok and I can't change the ringtone. I may need to reflash. It does recognize that I have other ringtones, but I can't select any of them.

Same thing happens for me, also happening in tclock. gives me an error that the ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable, for some but not all ringtones (only mp3 format). I've hard reset 3x since flashing and it's the same thing each time. both the m2d rom and the one without.

This happens with me too with both versions of the rom what could we be doing to mess this up?

Wondering if MP3 is now unsupported as a ringtone? I just converted my mp3 tones to wma and they all work fine now.

I'm running with 2 different MP3's as ringtones... (one for my wife and one for everybody else). I usually go into the phone then options, but it shouldn't make a difference.

Maybe I didn't wait long enough to reset after install... the entry is there, and it is working fine now. Thanks for all you do Adrynalyne and Wozzer.

So I also use ActiveGCsync to sync my google calendars. The program needs .net 3.5. I know the rom has it cooked in but I can't get the program to run since it says .net isnt installed. Any advice?

The patch doesnt fix it permanently. I installed the patch, and like a day later my wifi was gone again. so i had to apply the patch again, and had to soft reset like 2 times befor the wifi came back.

Im trying out the other i910 rom someone else cooked, and the wifi problem seems to be fixed completely in the other rom im on.

Disclaimer - This rom worked on my Omnia. If it bricks yours, it is not my responsibility to buy you a new omnia, or call samsung to have them send a new one to you.

With the release (or leak as it may be) of the i910 rom, I got to cooking. This is a release for Verizon phone. So here is:

WoZZeRs Cooked Rom (Real original name... heh)

I've had some 'beta testers' in a thread about the discussion of cooking for the i910.

First of all, this is a rom I am making for myself and sharing with the public, so if I have removed something you want, then find one of the Omnia cab repositories and install it as a cab.

Secondly, I don't *owe* you anything to put in the rom, (or fix if it's beyond my control). With the .img that was leaked, I don't know how to extract the Customer_CSC, but if someone wants to help me, I could get a lot more done.

I recommend that you have flashed with the new ROM (the link is in the New Rom thread for the i910), and after the *228, and all that jazz, it's safe to update with my ROM.

To go over some of the changes I have done,

Things Removed:

VZNav and VZAppZone

Samsung Today and Today 2

Samsung Widgets *1

Non-English Keyboards

All ringtones and backgrounds (except the default VZW ringtone and mountain background)

Digital Frame

Business Card Reader

Dice

Connected Home

FMRadio

'Main Menu'

Movie Video Editor

RSS Reader

Shozu

Silver Inbox

Smart Converter

Smart Memo

Touch Player

Text Message retry

Zoomer

--New in v5--

A few more odds and ends, mostly cleaning out left over stuff

Things added:

M2D (In one of the releases)

Opal Comm manager.

Google Maps

Official Youtube player

WM 6.5 Facebook App

Java

Advanced Config

SD Tuneup (better responce from SD cards)

Total Commander

TCPMP0.81

Various start up tweaks

Link to SMPlayer *4

Fixes:

--v5--

Camera should not lock up in recording mode

Opening an image actually brings you to that image

Included SMPlayer works

How to flash:

Run UDML_Omnia

Click PDA

Find the extracted file from the rar you downloaded

Hit Detect

Restart Phone

Once the phone has completly booted, wait a minute and give it another soft-reset

Here are the links to the files:

Flash OS v5 *2

Flash OS v5 /w M2D

If I deleted a program that you use on a regular basis, Shokka9 has some of the original programs. These are from the i900, but there is no reason they shouldn't work with the i910.

*1 - This is part of the Customer_CSC, so I'm having trouble getting it to work for people who want it. I recommend FEWidgets if you want the same functionality.

*2 - For refrence, the non-M2D one should have about 15 megs of more of free space after a hard reset.

*3 - Follow the instructions here to add custom cities tp the weather tab.

*4 - I have attached a SMPlayer with the remaining codecs that are not included in the windows folder. You shouldn't need this unless you want to use the touch player.

One thing i have a question about and maybe its because i am new at this but...I can seem to get outlooks to appear on my email tab...it only shows mms messages...anyone have any ideas i love the interface...and I just use mobile divx play to play me divx movies.

Also thanks sooo much i have been messing around with th ecab files to set up manilla but its so clunky and mem hoggin that i gave up...this is amazing Really thanks a lot.

i'm still using v3 with m2d but i noticed that .qcp files are still associated with touch player even though the program isn't installed. also video messages from other phones won't play in the message itself but if i save the file and view the file itself it works fine. i tried the same thing with the .qcp sound file and nothing happened.

thanks again for the great work

wozzer-

apparently there is a new touchscreen driver called touchresponse.dll and it gives vibratory feedback for every touch. you should check it out and possibly throw it in the next rom update.

i dont see why samsung had to use a stupid resistive touchscreen in the first place. they should have gone with a capacative. none of my friends can figure out how to work my phone because they dont realize they have to press hard...
