a program called vjbrisk can redirect your exes. vijay555.com. works for any exe or lnk file. so when a program asks for clock.exe you can make it run tclock.exe.

("I coulda had a V8" slap to the forehead) I installed VJbrisk a while ago and really didn't have anything to use it for. Now I do. Thanks!

Have been using Mobile Shell 3 for 3 days now and I find it awesome... the lifestyle screen and the menu with the tweaks in this thread make for the perfect UI... smooth running, low memory usage, just great...

Issues so far :

1. using Inesoft Phone , dialer does not always pop up using the hardware key ( "Dial key" ); it seems rather random, sometimes it does not work in the Lifestyle screen but works in SPB Menu, sometimes otherwise... workaround : put a shortcut to Inesoft dialer on Lifestyle screen

2. the Agenda menu does not allow to edit or delete appointments (if you click an appointment it opens the calendar entry, and you can try and delete it but it actually stays there)... workaround : not using Agenda and put a shortcut to calendar handy

3. using S2U2, if screen is locked and autorotation is on, and the locked screen is rotated, after unlock, it locks again :excl: and you need to unlock twice... workaround : disable auto rotate ( the "Ignore screen orientation" in S2U2 menu does not work )

4. integration with Samsung software ( clock, touch player ) ... would be great

anyone know other solutions to the issues above , feel free to share.

Anyway great interface and if the dialer issue is addressed I will definitely get final registered version...

VJBrisk works with all exes.

Seems like a great software! How does it work effectively? It appears i can always create a shortcut for the intended .exe program.

What you do is replace the exe with a copy of VJBrisk that has been renamed. It then looks for a shortcut and runs that.

For example (I have done this):

If you have SPB Mobile Shell 3 tapping the clock loads the windows alarm interface which is actually an exe called clock.exe and lives in the Windows directory.

I renamed VJBrisk.exe to clock.exe and copied it to the Windows directory, overwriting the existing clock.exe

I then created a shortcut (.lnk file) to G-alarm and named it clocklnk.lnk

I placed that inside the Windows folder as well.

Now when you tap the clock in Mobile Shell 3 it tries to invoke clock.exe which is now actually VJBrisk. That, in turn looks for and runs the clocklnk.lnk thereby running G-Alarm. So now when I tap the clock, I get g-alarm. Perfect!

You can do this with any exe by simply overwriting <PROGRAM>.exe with a renamed copy of VJBrisk and putting a shortcut in the same folder with the name <PROGRAM>lnk.lnk

Great tool!

Great instruction, clear as crystal! Would definitely help a lot of users here. :excl:

Has anyone else experienced a memory leak with Shell 3? I get to the point I open an app and it is active for a few seconds and then closes automatically. This happens until I either shut Shell 3 off, or get to the point I have to do a reset, and then it is rinning great for a while!!

Any suggestions?

SPB3 looks great and seemed quite responsive.

I did add S2u2 and it seemed fine. It was the last thing I did last night after 1am. I left it connected to the PC overnight and it was frozen with the screen on in the morning. I reset the device and it worked but at various times seemed very sluggish (e.g - it wouldn't rotate the screen as quickly from portrait to landscape and back). Some of the options did not respond well. S2u2 notifications seemed to interrupt other core functions. I had to reset it once at work and just now - it is black screen and another reset to get it active again.

Anyway - I think there is an S2u2 1.65 beta I can try - or I'll remove it and see if I get back to normal with SPB3.

SPB Menu: Seems like SPB are enjoying hiding features. Here's how to unlock the SPB Menu so you can add and remove links as you wish.

Navigate to: HKLM>Software>Spb Software House 2>Menu>Root

In there you will find folders that correspond to the menu items in the SPB Menu. E.G: Internet

You need to go into the folder and add a DWORD value called "Add" with the value of "1".

Once this is done, go to SPB Menu and open the Menu Catagory. Click the options button (bottom right) and you will see 3 new buttons. :excl:

Here is a tip from 3shirts, it shows you how to add another Application Category to the menu. - Thank you

Any idea why this would not work on my Omnia? I added the DWORD just as you describe and did a soft reset. No added buttons on the SPB Menu. Thanks for any thoughts....

EDIT: Asked and answered. Must put the DWORD in each of the subfolders under root.

(Clean DXIA2) problem with phone call stopped ringing (ring vol set to 4 and it is loud) after SPB shell3 installation, soft reset fixed it but it was a surprise because v2 never had that problem, not the rom.

I love it!! I installed it this past weekend. It's fast on my Wing and scrolling is very smooth.. Can't wait for the final release. Found a bug though - my text icon is not lighting up for unread texts. and scrolling is very smooth.

Edit the profile "normal" in spb shell,,there is a tab for it.

For those who dont´t recive notifications(unread messages...)in the sms widget, etc. Go to normal wm today, right tab-today ,and close the operator welcome message at start, then it works.

Another thing,in this version(i suppost beta) we can´t delete the registry call in spb, what happen´s when it is full?

Navigate to:

HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Shell>Rai>:MSINBOX

Change key labeled 1 to you SMS-Chat exe.

e.g: "\Program Files\VITO\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe"

Note: Dont forget the "", they are important.

Restart and try.

Hi there, my first post so... congratulations for your work!

I've been trying to change my SMS launch path, as quoted above, but it doesn't work: as I restart, my system puts on the old path (tmail.exe), and I want to redirect it to

\Memoria Interna\Archivos de programa\VITO\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe

Note: "Memoria Interna" is the internal memory, the large one, not the small root one.

Thanks in advance!

Any way to put an internet shortcut directly on the Lifestyle screen?

I can get the Favorites button on there via the Applicatiion widget, but I'd like to cut out this extra button push if possible.
