Guest QRULEZ Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 For folks that have been running into a situation where the phone is locked and putting in your code does nothing at all I think I have figured out that it has something to do with the battery level. When this happens to me I plug in my phone using the wall charger and I am immediately able to enter my code and the phone unlocks. Convenient fix when i am nearby a plug however not so helpful when I am not. Also this means that i can only use about 50% of my battery before i have to plug in or as soon as the phone locks it is stuck that way. This problem seems to occur with any rom version I have tried thus far. I am going to try the 21725 build and see if this has been corrected. If anyone else experiences this and finds that my remedy works please post.

I just locked the phone and when it went to sleep it would not wake without a soft reset.

My problem occurred even if i soft-reset and it booted back up I was still unable to unlock until I plugged in the phone.
Guest bikefreq Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 The versions of the ROMs that I have used have the Samsung Dialer disabled. That is what locks the screen. To change this, go to the Advanced Config Tool-Phone-Phone skin. Change this to Enabled and soft reset. This will enable the Samsung Dialer and lock the screen at the set time when you are in a call. Guest Apo11on Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 How do I convince verizon the battery is bad or do I just need to fork out the bucks to buy a new one phone is only 4 months old. im having the same issues with my battery, and its only 1 month old...when VZW replaced my bricked Omnia about a month ago it came with new battery. the reason I still hasnt taken it back is because I'm still not sure whether its a bad battery or something in the ROM or installed appz that is causing significant power drain. I have nothing to compare battery performance to, because with my old battery I was using original, old VZW ROM...
Guest semmtexx Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 i didnt install either one of them themes but did install diffrent one and what i shared with u worked for me so maybe its something to do with those themes not sure as u said u made alot of changes im not aware of so it makes it hard to trouble shoot sorry No biggie. Phone is reset and back with the new menus. Let the hard work begin!...again.

Ok glad atleast I'm not the only one so maybe it could be the rom or some app but in task manager nothing is running. Boardband does stay connected all the time cause of Visual Voice Mail but from I'm told that doesn't use much power. Before the rom flashing I was going days if not a week without charging but now if I don't charge about every 6 hours I'll end up with a completly dead phone where only the AC charger will charge it.

You really don't want to use the conventional backup apps (SPB, RESCO....) because they will copy everything and may over-write tweaks or changes that you may want from the newer ROM, and some pf the problems from previous ones!! One option I am exploring that may be of help is Seshimi. It is a multi-CAB installer that you can also save email settings, reg tweaks (not sure I would do those automatically on a new ROM (same reason as above) and some other things I haven't looked into yet. http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4

It's not a bug, The Samsung dialer is disabled. This has been answer a few times.

Guest talkshowhost Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Well i got the album cover-art issue resolved.... if you take the SD card out of the phone and use a card-reader to transfer music, the coverart stays and will be seen on the omnia. If you use a data cable to transfer directly to the phone, windows mobile strips the mp3s of the embedded artwork. So that problems solved. I never did try transferring via windows mobile device center so its possible that would also work. I hope this helps anyone who's had similar problems. On an unrelated note, has anyone noticed that the omnia won't charge when hooked up to a computer via the usb cable? the phone will maintain its charge, but it wont actually charge to 95%. This is pretty annoying. My HTC Touch never had any problems. Does anyone know if this is a problem with the included USB cable or whether its an issue with the omnia itself?
