Guest yojoe600 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Could always use a Bluetooth A2DP 3.5mm Bluetooth receiver for about $30 means no messy cables go to the omnia at all but to the small bluetooth clip. just bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s%3DI%26otn%3D2 for my aux port and the reviews where pretty good so i will see when it gets here and let you know
Guest vradi Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 this is a smaller solution maby it's a bit more expensive. it's on ebay for 1.50$ link I just bought one of these, and it doesn't work, but I have an i910. Has anyone gotten it to work with the i910?
Guest lastnikita Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Any bluetooth receiver for $30 is going to be crap. I have this one for $60 and it is awesome. It is also sold as a Tritton AX BlueStream if the Sonorix is sold out. I use this for both headphones and for hooking into the AUX port in my car for handsfree and music streaming. Highly recommended. looks nice, can you charge and listen at the same time or is the charge using the jack connector as on many models ? how long will the battery last ? thanks !
Guest dwallersv Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 i bought this last month and i hate it. first of all the sound from it is too soft and it appears not to process the sound in stereo. in short, useless... Yours must be defective. I just got mine, and I can't tell any difference between it and the much longer cord with the volume control on it that was provided with the Omnia. [shrug]

I just got mine, and I can't tell any difference between it and the much longer cord with the volume control on it that was provided with the Omnia. [shrug] The one difference is that it does not work as the antenna for the FM program and the scan function of the FM program. But for WMP or touch player, etc., works OK. I got a second one to use on the end of a male-to-male patch cable to connect the Omnia to the iPod jack in the car. Ron...
Guest Tim-H Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) I bought this, works awesome, and the headphones that came with it actually sound really good too. It also comes with a clip if you dont want to wear it around your neck. Took a picture of it. Edited May 22, 2009 by Tim-H

Guest lorin.bute Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I decided to buy a bluetooth solution after all: Sony Ericsson HDH - DS205 The battery lasts 8 hours and its easy to use.
Guest OzzyW Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) Got mine this week together with Zaggs Invisible shield ... its sweeeet!!! Edited May 23, 2009 by OzzyW

Took a picture of it. can you comment on the volume when compared to headphones being wired to the phone? anything i've used bluetooth always seems quieter enough over bluetooth to warrant me not using it as much as i'd like. My BT Stereo headphones for example are at least 20% quieter than wired headphones... but on my PC they're normal... trying to figure if its a phone thing, or its just my headphones, and if devices like these are able to meet the kick that i want.

It is a little quieter but plenty loud, at least for me. Id say maybe 10% - 5% quieter but definitely not more, or anywhere near 20. I should add that it sounds great. Bass hits, etc. It feels like its plugged into my zune directly. Not BT over a phone. Also I havent done the volume increase registry thing. Maybe that doesnt effect bluetooth is why its such a big difference? Assuming you have. Edited May 24, 2009 by Tim-H
Guest Cacher Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 I have the one in the very first post and it works great.

Since i bought my bluetooth stereo headphones yesterday i made the changes and i can sense the difference. I can't say that I'm losing some volume because I'm using bluetooth. So I'm happy about my purchase.
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Hello, do the buttons for changing the song, volume etc. work on the Omnia (for the jack that has them)? Thanks in advance <_<

Haven't re-done reg edits for sound yet, but yeah there is a BT section in there i never messed with before, i was always bothered by the native difference in volume between the phone and the pc tho. think i'll go order that, may wait til payday tho lol
Guest spaghetina Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) the omnia HD does and no theres no patent issues I know of it's probably just cheaper and easier (from a design stand point) case you have to adapt your whole PCB(printed circuit board) to accommodate for that. Also I belive this one is superior to the topic starters solution. http://ids.hk/productDetail.php?productID=769 Yep, add me to the group that owns this adapter, and I love it. It has a little string that you can attach in the same place your stylus can be attached to the phone, although I refuse to hang anything off the side of mine. I've heard, from some other Omnia owners, that certain phones came with multi-adapters which allow for plugging in a charger, 2.5mm headphones, and another audio/tv out, so you have the choice of charging your device while either listening to your audio with regular headphones (although most people will need yet ANOTHER adapter to go from the 2.5mm to the more standard 3.5mm), or being listening with the original Omnia headphones with the clunky proprietary plug. I've looked around for some affordable versions of this, but they just don't exist. (I don't consider $30+ for an adapter that'll still require me to buy another adapter to be "affordable", in comparison to the cheapy I bought off ebay for a few bucks.) I bought this, works awesome, and the headphones that came with it actually sound really good too. It also comes with a clip if you dont want to wear it around your neck. Took a picture of it. I was looking into buying one of these. Did you buy the real version, or an Asian knock off from ebay? I may still go this route just so that I can charge the phone and still listen to music/watch movies. I hate the idea of being on a long flight/trip and having to stop what I'm listening to in order to charge the phone. This eliminates that need, since you can plug it in, and still listen to whatever you want, right? Since you're using bluetooth with this, how's the battery life when listening to music? Playing movies? Got mine this week together with Zaggs Invisible shield ... its sweeeet!!! How do you like the invisible shield?? Did you put it on the screen? I bought one, put it on the back cover, and wasn't a fan of the slight orange peely look (I also stupidly got the little triangular cutout stuck underneath the shield, and by the time I noticed, it was pretty much going to just be stuck there - and there it's been ever since, uglying up the back of my phone <_< ). Days later, I went ahead and put on all the rest of the side panels anyway, just to keep it protected, but I bought a standard smooth, plasticy screen protector (in a set of 3, and from ebay) to avoid the potential ugly look on the front screen. Did yours stay pretty smooth and glossy, or is it as orange peely as I'm imagining it to be? Edited May 24, 2009 by spaghetina

If I'm playing music from a file the battery life seems fine. I was playing audio at work for 4 or 5 hours friday and the battery meter on the phone wasnt even half gone. I don't notice any difference in power consumtion over the wired plug really. Streaming from online obviously kills it, but thats the just the data connection. Edited May 25, 2009 by Tim-H
