Guest hiato Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Hello guys, I was wondering since you flash many ROMs, what is the safest way to flash a ROM, official one? 1- Just using the *.exe updater? 2- Disassembling the ROM and using Grand Prix? 3- Using the *****Emergency Mode*****? And of course, Using windows Xp, Vista or 7? Wish to share opinions just to help all the newbies here, like me <_< Thanks in advance...

Guest =MZ= Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 There is no safest way. Just because your PC can hang, your house power supply can be suddenly interrupted by an incident, ... There is two moments, when you can "brick" device: flashing EBOOT and flashing Phone. PDA can be reflashed as many times as your device boots up and is detected by updater. And only 32bit WinXP is usable. For any other OS use VmWare with XP installed. If you don't exactly know benefits of FW update, just don't do this. Preferring the risk in life gives you no choice: just flash and pray <_<
